In this ugly place with average rude staff, they serve average Italian food but in micro portion that will not satisfy you at all. 8 pounds for 7 gnocchi... Do me a favour! Avoid, nearby is trattoria do Mori and trattoria do spade.

Had pizza and prosecco here, very relaxed and good value, perfect. The staff were lovely, very friendly and spoke enough english to understand what we wanted.

There are many places to stop for lunch, this is one that must be tried. We had walked by the night before as they where putting the chairs and tables away at supper time. Thought it was odd that a restaurant in Venice closed so early in the evening. We went back the next day for lunch and had 2 of the best pizzas that we have ever experienced. Large, great crust and very generous with the toppings.
We had no problem getting a table but it was full right after that and never seemed to empty. Someone would leave and just as fast someone else would sit down. Many locals, always a good sign.
I guess that answers the question about not staying open at night, they do a good enough business during the day.
Give it a try, if you are a pizza lover you won't be disappointed.

A nice stop for yummy pizza and house table wine amid the hustle bustle of the city. Relaxed here in the afternoon and had a delicious Gorgonzola and ham pizza. Be aware that they stop serving around 6pm - perfect for lunch or snack but not open for dinner.

We stopped here for a drink and a quick bite to eat. Atmosphere was great; service was efficient and pleasant. There are many places to stop to break in Venice, and we would recommend this one. The staff (likely family-run) were serious about their business and the importance of looking after clients. Can't say that for all restaurants in Venice!
