We are a family of 5 with kids ranging in age from 16 to 9. We were in Venice in March. We found this restaurant on our way to the water bus stop going to Murano and made reservations for that night. Typical of Venice, we got lost on the way that night and could locate the restaurant. We finally found it late and soaked from the rain. The owner welcomed us warmly and made us feel like we were at a friend's house. The restaurant is small so everyone has great personalized service. The food was fantastic! We all really enjoyed our meals.
That night, there was flooding in the squares. When were getting ready to leave, the owner put on his boots and walked us halfway home until we got to a familiar area! He didn't want us to get lost again. He really made us feel special and made our last night in Venice truly memorable! We have family who are going to Venice in the fall. They will definitely go to La Colonna!
