I doubt there can be a more hospitable apartment owner than Irene in the whole of Venice or a more attractive and spotless apartment than this one. Situated in a very quiet, wide, tree lined street it was an ideal base to explore this wonderful city. The apartment is only five minutes (and just one bridge!) from the Piazzale Roma so you can avoid the usual backbreaking trek with luggage that so often is needed when you arrive in Venice. It is less than 10 minutes to Campo Santa Margherita and Campo San Barnaba where there are many bars and eateries, and you can sit and people watch. It is also a short distance from the station. On arrival we found Irene the owner had provided a really nice selection of local provisions including a delicious bottle of Prosecco which was really thoughtful. She also provided some maps including one which was annotated with suggested places to visit, eat and drink, many of which we tried, all of which were excellent. She also gave us great local insight into things such as travelling on the Vaporetto. The apartment itself was beautiful. Spotlessly clean, very spacious and with lots of attention to detail. It was like living in your own boutique hotel. All the bedrooms were big and had access to balconies which was great. With five of us staying having two bathrooms was also very useful. A lot of trouble and effort has been put into making this a fantastic place to stay during a trip to Venice and we would have no hesitation in recommending it.
