We stayed here for three very pleasant nights.

Checking in was straight forward and friendly after a slight detour as we crossed the wrong bridge, which we discovered is very easy to do in Venice. We were well loaded up with a baby too.

The room was exceptionally large and comfortable.

Breakfast reasonable quality with good choice.

There is no restaurant but plenty nearby.

Just one downside was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities on the arrival day as they were all out in other rooms but this was rectified the day after.

If you stay here travel by bus from the airport return ticket is only 11 € purchased from a booth in the airport. 15 mins is all it takes and if you take the smaller bridge, not the new arched bridge, it is a very short walk through a park to the hotel.

I stayed here with a group of friends and we were all very pleased with the hotel. Rooms clean and comfortable, plenty of roll, ham, meat, cheese at breakfast and unlimited hot drinks. The reception staff were very helpful. The hotel actually flooded while we were there and this meant no hot water or heating, but we were told this on arrival back from an evening out and by morning everything was back to normal-the staff must of worked all night to clear up! Two very good restaurants nearby The Cravate and the suberb Ristorante Ribot. Pepo the manager at the Ribot has excellent knowledge of wines and we trusted his choice and were always very pleased. Great food here with daily specials, booking essential. Save up and take a private taxi it is the best way to arrive in Venice! Ours cost 130 Euros for six of us. Will definintely stay here again.

First time visitor to Venice and was recommended this hotel from a friend. Checked in a little late, but the hotel was very accommodating (contacted them prior). Service is great, staff are very fluent in English and understanding with my limited Italian.

Located in west Venice, not near the main San Marco square but within a nice (30 minute walk) walk past the Rialto Bridge and other land marks. Easily accessible by Vaporetto and close to the train station. Being further from San Marco, means the surrounding restaurants/cafes are cheaper. We reserved a shared taxi from Marco Polo airport and they dropped us off at Rio Novo, which is a 3 minute walk to the hotel.

Rooms are ok for a couple unless you were allocated a larger room. - Room 102, queen bed, desk, flatscreen tv, bathroom with shower (no bath), toilet. We had a canal view room which was nice. Looking at the floor plan on our floor, the rooms are not all the same size. Sometimes, you could hear people in the hallways or between floors, but wasn't too concerning. No Wifi, unless you pay for it (10EUR per 24 hours).

Breakfast included - basic, but sufficient for a good start to the day. No hot food but unlimited coffee machine, juices, croissants, rolls, ham and cheese, cereals (cornflakes/muesli), yoghurt. Very helpful staff and 24hour manned desk.

I have been several times at Hotel Al Sole, each time on business for a few days. The hotel is well located in terms of reachability form the airport (1 minute walking from Piazzale Roma) and train station. The staff is nice and helpful. The rooms are clean, cosy (although a bit old stylish) and the hotel is quiet. Breakfast is fine. The only thing negative point is you have to pay separately to get internet access ...

Room Tip: You can ask for a room at the back of the hotel to make sure you get the quietest one.

Good points: Good location, very close to Santa Lucia train station and half an hour walk from Piazza San Marco. Some rooms have a nice view on the surrounding roofs and on the canal. Friendly staff.
Bad points: very old furniture in the rooms, no wi-fi, very poor breakfast and...the room was not cleaned until 5 o'clock in the afternoon!
Good place, but we could have probably found something better for this price.

This hotel is well located for the bus station and is in a quiet residential area making it great to sleep. Attractive old palace on the outside but tired and dates internally in need of modernisation. Breakfast was very basic but is included in the price. No restaurant but lots of local choice. Helpful reception staff will book concerts etc.

We stayed at Hotel Al Sole for 2 nights. It is about 5-10 minutes walk from the train station (if you know your way!) and you only have to cross one bridge on the way, so is handy if you have loads of luggage.

You can eat breakfast with the birds out in the garden, which is well shaded.

Our room was just about big enough and the bathroom was pretty much perfect.
The interior of the hotel is very posh, and the staff are well presented.

Definately stay here if you can find a good deal (we managed to get 2 nights at £152!).
