“Great location, poor service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

Our family of 4 recently returned from Italy and we spent two nights at Albergo Firenze. We booked through Expedia and requested a family room and expected a room with 4 single beds. The room was tiny, with a double and a single bed with no additional space for another bed, much less the four of us and luggage. I went down to reception to complain and the rude worker told me that the double split up two two small singles, and they would bring another single. That still never would have worked. We then ended up spending an additional 40 Euros a night for two smaller rooms.

The location was the best part of our experience. The hotel was clean, but the staff was rude. Breakfast was included, but we chose to go elsewhere. The first morning it took forever to get staff to make coffee and there were only tables for two. The food was also mediocre at best.

The room price included free WiFi, but we could only connect by standing on the steps off the lobby and were lucky to even connect there.

I would not recommend this place for anyone wanting a friendly warm environment. If you are looking for location at a decent price, then OK.

Fantastic location in really expensive street. Expected it to be somewhere less smart re the price. Super friendly staff-all of them. Clean room on street but good triple glazing. Good sized bathroom and shower that had been modernized. All for 60€ a night. Spent 2 nights there. Would highly recommend it.

If you want a clean room, near of everything, with good service, go to this place. For a good price (for Venice), you will be at 2 streets of San Marco Place, 1 corner of boat service and near (by feet) of a lot of good restaurant. People at desk gave us good advice for restaurant. The rooms are very small but clean and... you are not in Venice for the room!

Room Tip: Higher floors are less noisy and ask for a street view.

Your heart is always in your mouth when you book "on spec" but I need not have worried. This small yet perfectly appointed hotel only a stone's throw from San Marco was ideal. Bed was most comfortable, bathroom and shower clean and efficient, breakfast first class and the staff exmemplary - I even accepted their recommendation for a restaurant for supper with my son and his wife (staying elsewhere). A very genuine and "pleased to help" atmosphere.

Room Tip: back rooms face away rom the street (unless you want to be woken by Venetian street sounds)

Literally metres from piazza san marco, with Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Chanel between. Fantastic service; the staff gladly printed a document I had forgotten to bring, and one of the staff walked me personally to a location I had trouble finding! The hotel is difficult to find; look for the tile doormat in the street, don't look up for a sign. But once you've found the hotel, the fact that it's tucked in a little is very much an advantage. There is a lovely good restaurant just around the corner (go left out of the hotel, then first left and it is 5 metres down the street) for a great value meal. Breakfast is included with a decent assortment, and the rooftop balcony is gorgeous. San Marco Vaporetto stop is a 3 minute walk. Will definitely stay here again if I return to Venice. Thank you!

It was our first visit to Italy. We found the hotel from a random article on internet. We read reviews on Tripadvisor and decided to book. The hotel and reviews did not disappoint. We had a pleasant four day stay in this conveniently located hotel. It's a little hard to find at first, with a walkway tucked between shops, but once we found it, it was wonderful to be so close to everything....St Marks, restaurants, shopping, boats, museums, etc. We had a nice room with a terrace--comfortable, sizeable, nicely appointed, clean, tidy and free wifi. The staff was friendly and helpful. We started each day with the included breakfast. Overalll a very pleasant stay and great start on our first trip to Italy.

We stayed here for 2 nights in November 12'. We struggled to find itas there is only a tiled floor mat with the name on that we walked past. When we arrived we were greeted by Laura who was very helpfull and was great with any questions we had. The hotel ismlocated on the same street as top designer shops and san marcs sq is under a 30 second walk. The room has all you need including safe, mini bar etc (Only thing missing was an iron). bathroom was classic italian design and both bathroom and sitting area was spotless. if i was to be picky, the only thing i would say i dndt enjoy was the bed! me and my girlfriend had wanted a double but this was 2 singles pushed together which was murder on my back as i kept falling through the middle!

Any friends or family we have visiting Venice...we would deffio recommend this hotel!
