This restaurant was immediately next to our hotel and we recognised it from the reviews and headed straight there on our first evening.

The food was extremely good - beautiful steak and fresh fish - and the service very attentive and helpful. We originally wanted to eat at 6.30pm but the kitchens did not open until 7 pm. For some restaurants this is a problem - but we were rapidly seated with a bottle of wine and a basket of bread.

Having read all the reviews on TA, we made a reservation and were really looking forward to our meal here. The location makes this a difficult restaurant to get to so after all the effort, we were disappointed to find that the food was OK but nothing to write home about. Also, we were surrounded by 2 tables with young children, which is rather off-putting in a restaurant which boasts a romantic setting. However, staff were very friendly and helpful but we definitely felt the menu was slightly limited. All in all, average all round.

This was the second time we had been to Algiubagio for dinner, and due to it's location right next to the vaporetti stop to Burano it became the location for our daily spritz. Food was again very good, the tramezzini particularly enjoyable, and great value considering the prices some of the competition still get away with. Staff were quite accommodating, particularly of my terrible attempts at Italian.

This trip marked the third visit to Algiubagio for me and my wife. It remains a fine restaurant in a less touristy area of Venice. Very accessible, as the restaurant is within 50 feet of the 4/5 vaporetto stop.

Wonderful food, the steak was cooked to perfectly medium rare. We also had the lobster with strawberries. Unusual but very tasty. Vegetables were al-dente.

Very romantic place, the lights in the distance twinkled in the dark.

Staff was excellent. As it became cooler in the evening, the staff brought out shawls for the ladies.

The restaurant's deck is adjacent to the 4/5 vaporetto stops, so it's easy to reach from many places in the city. The noise of the boats might be a distraction for some, but the operators were probably 40 feet away from the restaurant's outdoor location. I didn't find it to be a problem.
