We decided to visit Venice for a romantic 2 night stay. It was difficult choosing a hotel as there were so many to choose from. We decided upon the Centurion Palace for the following reasons: 5*, good price, breakfast included, arty Dorsoduro district, modern and funky décor. We were not disappointed.
Room: Beautiful modern room with a real individual feel. High ceilings. Comfortable bed. Iphone charger. Golden painted bathroom (no sign of wear and tear). Painted wooden floor boards. The shower had lights built into the floor!
Location: Overlooking the Grand Canal. Quiet and away from masses of tourists. 15 minute walk to San Marco square over Accademia bridge. 2 minutes to the Vaperetto stop (important for line 1 travel along the canal).
Breakfast: continental buffet menu. We were lucky to be randomly seated with views over the canal (however, to guarantee this you may need to get to breakfast early or late). Coffee very good. However I would recommend the hot chocolate-divine; they have orange hot chocolate and hazelnut hot chocolate on the lounge menu….chocolate heaven! Normal breakfast selection: pastries, scrambled eggs, cereals, cheese.
The staff: all approachable and willing to help. No problems.
Overall this is a small unique hotel with elements of luxury.
Tip: arrival by private water taxi is a must (110 euros from the airport)- this is a special experience and unmatched elsewhere.More
