My husband, sister and brother in law stayed here 1 night in November. Great location. Off the beaten path a little (not on Grand Canal), but right on one of the smaller canals by a bridge, which I think is more quaint and romantic. Close to taxi stop, shopping, and a very short walk to St Marks square. Very contemporary room. Clean. No free wifi.

We had a fantastic stay at the hotel. The room was huge and so clean. The breakfast was excellent and catered for myself (a vegetarian) as well my daughter who is gluten intolerant. The hotel was in an excellent location - easy walking distance to San Marco and the grand canal. I would happily stay at this hotel Again.

Oh my, my husband and I expected a rundown, old hotel that had really small rooms, but to our surprise the room was normal to large with boutique style decore. The bathroom was totally updated and beautiful. We didn't have an issue with water pressure or heat.
Staff is nice, helpful.
Breakfast was a simple continental breakfast with a large variety, ranging from fresh fruit to yogurt to Italian meats, and even quiche.
It is very close to all of the tourist stuff but out of the way of all the people, on an ADORABLE little road over looking the canal. Every time we walked back by our hotel we sighed and couldn't help but be giddy about this choice.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the start of November. Our room was nice (the one with the spiral mosaic in the bathroom) the location of the hotel was great 2 minute walk to St Marks square and the same to the water taxi points. The only thing that let the hotel down for us was the breakfast, not much choice, but I guess when the hotel only has 15 rooms its not that surprising. Would stay here again probably due to the location.

The hotel is situated a very short walk aawy from St Marks Square and the vaparetto stop which makes it ideal for getting around and seeing the sights, and transfers back to the airport or train station.

The hotel itself was beautiful, really nicely decorated and clean, and the bedroom itself was something else! It was much bigger than expected, very modern and clean, the whole suite felt very new and shiny!

Breakfast was complementary and had everything you would expect for a continental breakfast, it was very good quality.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome also.

Fantastic hotel - we would definitely stay here again!

I think that reviews of this hotel may be room-dependent. Here are the pros & cons of the hotel:

What we didn't like:
1. Our room was at the top of the stairs. Since the stairs are not carpeted, there is hallway noise; however, its a small hotel & no one was in the hallway at night.
2. The layout of the room is the worst I have experienced. The bed is in the middle of the room. No bedside tables; instead the table is behind the tall headboard, requiring that you get out of bed to turn off the bed lamps.
3. The shower stall is in the bedroom (a glass shower). It is obviously a luxury shower for some but took me forever to figure out which of the 6 or so handles could cause water to come out.
4. The bathroom is a step up which is never a good idea in a hotel room b/c people are
unaccostomed to the layout and if you get up in the night, you risk falling.
5. The bathroom is tiny. There was no counter space at all to put toiletries. Also, it was impossible to use the mirror w/the bathroom lights on. The reason - the piercingly bright lightbulbs are aligned vertically and attached directly onto the front of the mirror. The brightness of these bulbs was magnified by the reflection in the mirror, making it impossible to look in the mirror with the lights on.
6. There is a charge for wifi.
7. Minor issue - the safe didn't work.
What we liked about the hotel:
1. Excellent location - on safe, a quiet street close to St. Mark's square but away from the hustle-bustle. Great restaurants & shops nearby. Sits on a pretty canal. Close to vaporetto stop.
2. Includes breakfast.
3. They loaned me a converter for flat iron.

Stayed at Ai Due Principi for 4 nights over last weekend and the hotel and friendliness of the staff made for a wonderful time.
having stayed in various Italian cities we expected a compact room but were delighted with the spacious room provided--modern, attractive , clean and very large with a separate " dressing area " with wardrobes etc.
The staff were always happy to help in whatever way and having a late departure it was great to find a shower room/ toilet to be used when we returned to collect the luggage that had been stored
Location is excellent--close to the main attractions but away from the main bustle and within 100 yards of several good restaurants--all in all highly recommended
