“Best weekend in Venice!”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

Corte Nova was a brilliant place to stay. The apartment was very spacious and clean! Best of all had a super market right opposite and was very close to all the main attractions!
The staff were excellent and very helpful and the restaurant recommendation by Ciara was the best ever! Thank you so much for such a great stay. Will definitely be back there and will definitely recommend Corte Nova to friends visiting Venice! :)

Room Tip: We stayed in a room which over looked the canal and it was beautiful! :)

We were there for 3 nights and the first night we were given a room larger than what we needed and were told that we would have to change the next day to get the one room apt we had booked. Sadly they did not help us even move our luggage. It was quite inconvenient as we were with our 2 1/2 yr old daughter and packing again was a pain. On the day of checkout we had to leave early around 7 in the morning. They closed the reception the last evening without taking payment inspite of calling them that we will be there in 15mins to make the payment. We were told that in the morning we would have to carry our luggage outside the hotel across the street to take our taxi to the airport since the reception would be closed and so will the front gate. We also had to leave the payment in the room locker and leave.
Apart from that the apartments are super spacious, modern and very clean. The kitchenette was very well equipped.
If ur looking to be near San Marco square this is a bit far and takes a good 20 mins if u walk leisurely.

cortenova, Responsabile reception at Corte Nova, responded to this review, October 3, 2012
Dear customer, we are very sorry for the inconvenience! I received you on his arrival, and I remember very well that I had explained to you reception hours (as I do routinely with all customers) the opening hours of the reception, from 8.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. (all day), I told you that in Reception you could find a leaflet with all timetable of reception and emergency numbers that you can call at night.
If the customer puts us aware of wanting to leave early, it is our duty and pleasure to facilitate the departure, performing a check-out the day before and explaining how they can go without many problems. Unfortunately you warned us at 8:30 p.m. of your will, and we were unable to be able to solve the problem!
Problem that could be easily solved if, in the past three days with us, you had raised the issue during the opening reception.
We are very sorry of what happened, Chiara

This is a lovely little hotel in an apparent backwater of Castello but still only 10 minutes walk from St. Mark's Square, once you get your head round the twisty turns of the canal routes. It is a new hotel, so it has all conveniences, and very tastefully decorated, but with the charm of an old building. Also an easy walk over to Rialto. Surrounded by really good and non-touristy restaurants and away from the madding crowd. Access is available by boat from the canal, there is a lift for your luggage and a supermarket round the corner. If you don't want to make your own breakfast or go out to one of the delightful café's, they will bring you breakfast to the room. Its not cheap but it is very ample and I found it enough for two mornings ... and lunch in between! This is a small hotel, so don't expect any communal spaces, lounges, bars etc ... but that is all just outside on the street. The Owner/Manager is really helpful and gives very good restaurant recommendations and map directions. If its in your price range, then go for it. You couldn't do better. I thought I fell on my feet with this one. There was not much to criticise (except for my own inadequacies in managing the canal routes!).

Room Tip: Room 1 is the prime spot on the first floor with a canal view in all rooms. Large double bedroom, b...

Choose this location if you want to stay in accommodation
** with LOTS of space
** that feels more like a home than a hotel room
** that is spotlessly clean and well maintained
** with WIFI and AC included
** that is very quiet
** where you can have a full kitchen just in case you want to use the grocery store that in right in front of where you are staying
** if you want to be close to the center, but right on top of hoards of tourists, and
** if you are lucky enough to get a spot.

In our opinion, the only reason that Corte Nova is not already the no. 1 rated place to stay is that it is smaller than some of the other places and so likely has less visitors voting for it. They could have divided up the property into smaller pieces, but instead each apt is spacious. Excellent, excellent accommodation.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are nice in their own way -

Venice was loaded to the brim with tourists and it was hot.
It took us a while to find the place, as we took a public ferry rather than the water taxi, and ended up using Google Maps on my ipad, to find it.

The best things about this apartment:
It has airconditioning in all rooms.
It is so close to everything but in a quiet, serene, non-touristy neighbourhood.
It's modern inside, clean and neat.
There's a small supermarket 30 seconds walk over the bridge - brilliant!!
The buidling is lovely, very old and right on the canal.
It really gives you some respite from the craziness of high season Venice.

We had a 2br apartment with a Garden view, as we booked to late for the Canal view. Despite this, it was charming to have a view of the lovely gardens out the back.

Chiara was very helpful at reception, and assisted with booking a water taxi to Murano - only a 15 minute ride away for 20 Euro.

The only drawback was no laundry facilities, as was the norm with other apartments we stayed at in Italy. Not a big deal though!

Room Tip: If I was booking again, I'd get the Canal apartment, but even if you don't, the Garden Apart...

This has to be the biggest apartment I have yet found in Italy. The location is very close to the centre (5mins) but still far enough to enjoy the quietness of the canals. Fantastic location, clean and new, well worth a stay.
