“Good restaurant off the beaten track”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012

Good evening meal, but not exceptional, pleasant atmosphere and great service. We were 4 adults and 3 children and we wanted something close by. Our hotel recommended this place and the TA reviews were ok too. Appreciated the attentiveness to the children as they did not want anything on the menu so the kitchen prepared some of the best spaghetti carbonara I've ever tasted!

I spent one night with a group of friend during the carneval period, it was exciting and funny, the atmosphere its familiar and all people around very nice.
The owner is a beautiful family, great famous singer and I would love to go back!

“Food: OK; Atmosphere: Stellar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

This was our first meal in Venice, after trekking down Via Garibaldi following a suggestion of someone we trusted. The place looks like a checked-tablecloth red sauce joint, and the food is decent -- but when the owner jumped up with his hollow body and started singing some Ital classics, our evening was kicked up a notch. He was accompanied by a friend (?) on violin, a madwoman who was hitting notes at incredible speed, and issued such classic Venetian standards as Procol Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale." This visit set the tone for a wonderful trip to Venice, and we look forward to eating in their presence again.

“Give it a miss - there are much better places”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

This was recommended by the hotel Ca'Formenta where was staying. I will not go back, largely because of the poor and indifferent service. The waiting staff were at best indifferent to the customers, and generally did not take pride in their appearance. They did not make me feel like a customer, not welcoming, little eye contact, minimal politeness, seemed more interested in laughing and joking amongst themselves. Service was slow and only responded after I called for it by catching someone's attention. To cap it off, I asked a male waiter for the dessert menu: he responded by telling me it was Tiramisu or nothing! Some restaurant!

One out of ten for service. You are warned!!

“Great atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

I visited this restaurant twice with my wife during a recent holiday in Venice. The atmosphere and ambiance was fantastic. The restaurants owner Lucio Bisutto performs a musical singing routine for the diners each evening, accompanied by a violinist and accordian player. It really is a great authentic Venetian restaurant. The only downside was the service was a bit hit and miss.
