Small but atmospheric, portion sizes good, moderate prices for Venice (we found),wine was reasonably priced and the house wine at 10 GBP per bottle was pleasing.Returned there.NB that if you are booked by the Hotel Al Sole there is 10% discount!

Recommended by our hotel (Hotel Al Sole), who made reservations for us. By doing this we were given a 10% discount on our bill. We were not disappointed - good selection of pasta, rice, fish and meat dishes and all reasonably priced. Definitely something for everyone. Food was well cooked and well presented. Wine list short but good - recommend the house white, a local Pinot Grigio - far better quality than the average Pinot Grigio from your local UK supermarket. Friendly and welcoming staff who spoke limited English but made a great effort to assist with ordering. We visited on 3 occasions during our recent stay in Venice and were not disappointed at all.

Nice food, friendly staff and not too expensive. Pasta, rice and fish meals were good and the house wine was fine.

Recommended for the (sea-)food of the region, however the chef is flexible to also make something suitable for the kids. The quality of the food is good and has a homemade, earthy feel, which goes well with the quirky and loveable atmosphere and friendly chef.
If you are looking for haute cuisine and a posh environment don't go there - "Cravate" does not mean you need to wear a necktie! (I saw people leaving barely touching their food, who apparently had expected something different...) - But if you like a fun and easy-going place with solid local food, have fun and enjoy a great time there!
in short: enjoyable food + nice atmosphere + kids welcome = perfect evening

We would have loved to eat there because the recommandations we read were great! However after looking and turning following the directions given by tripadvisor we gave up as it was getting late and ended up in another lovely restaurant. The following day when walking around on the other side of the city close to Plaza Roma we suddenly saw Ae Cravate! I guess we will have to go back!
