My wife and I were walking around looking for a quiet place for a late lunch and came across this place.
We found out after we sat down that they are a seafood place, my wife is vegetarian, Luciano (the owner) said no problem and lead us through a 3 course meal. It was one of the best meals we have had.

Go there ! We are going back for dinner.

Ostaria Boccadoro is tucked away in the Campo Widmann, a 15 minute walk off the well worn tourist stomping grounds of San Marco. Boccadoro features hand made pastas that really convey the culinary traditions of Venice and the lagoon. We had the 3 course set menu and it was way more food than we could eat. Absolutely amazing food and very friendly and authentic cooking!
I was really glad we stumbled across this tucked away restaurant thanks to a local friend's recommendation. The pride of the chef and his staff about thier food really shines through at Boccadoro, and it is this that sets them apart from other Venetian restaurants of good rapport. If there can be one critique of Boccadoro, it would be the price but it totally makes up for the portion size! In Venice there is no such thing as a cheap, good restaurant. Boccadoro is worth it and Not To Be Missed.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and were so glad we did. The chef did recommend an appetizer course and the seppia ink pasta and they were both absolutely delicious. The panna cotta with strawberry sauce was also divine. We found the service very attentive but not overbearing. He certainly did recommend his specials, but we didn't find him pushy. There was a man at the next table who wanted a steak and he was accommodated. (although he really missed out on the great seafood). We also really appreciated the location, a quiet plaza, away from the crowds, yet a beautiful little spot. If we make it back to Venice we will for sure look it up again.

We ate here by chance on a Wednesday lunchtime, our nearby first choice being closed. It's in a great little square, no shops, a few passing locals and even fewer (possibly lost) tourists passing through. The outside tables under an awning are well spaced and neatly laid - no plastic chairs or rickety wooden tables, which gives you a feel for its target audience.

As many of the restaurants in this part of Cannareggio, don't come here expecting to eat anything other than fish. Many of the antipasti consist of raw fish, and the flavours are delicate. The home-made pasta is superb, among the best we ate in Venice on this trip, and the wine list is well-chosen and fairly priced.

This is not a cheap option - we paid about 130 euros - but the quality of food, ambience and service and the relaxed pace made it entirely worthwhile. The husband and wife owners obviously work hard to make the place a success.

Recommended by a friend, we had great expectations for this restaurant. Sometimes, it's best to not get your hopes up too high.

It was a challenge to find - but then, everything in Venice requires a few wrong turns before you arrive. The small, plain square feels private and primarily used by native Venetians - a nice change from the tourist mobbed piazzas.

My husband enjoyed the fixed menu (24 euro) of mussels, pasta with seafood and tiramisu. I opted for the black pasta with seafood which was adequate - nothing special. We did enjoy the recommended Suove wine which was the highlight of our meal.

I would return for the Suove and a carefully selected appetizer - nothing more.
