“Overall great room”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

My 2 teen kids and stayed for two nights in the beginning of July. We were able to find the hotel fairly easily on foot with instructions from the website and our map. I knew from reading reviews that there is no sign from the Main Street but by seeing the pictures here, we were able to find it pretty well. We arrived early and our room was not ready which was fine because they kept our bags while we went to find lunch. When we returned, we were checked in by the most gracious and kind gentleman, bald guy, wish I remembered his name. Our room was exactly what we had requested, a triple with canal view. Great view, great A/C, spacious and roomy. The large bed was a little firm, but not unexpected in Europe. The bathroom was not large but fine for one person at a time-and super clean and very modern. Breakfast was nice, standard European breakfast with great cappuccino and pastries. Didn't really use the upstairs balcony, not really a spectacular view and small. But we used the honor bar to grab some waters quick when we needed to meet our tour. It was nice to have the option to grab drinks whenever you may need them. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel. The rooms were very large by European standards, the location was nice, a few blocks from San Marco but super easy to get to as well. I cannot say this is the very best hotel I've enjoyed in the world (St Regis monarch beach, Westin Excelsior Florence, Bellagio Las Vegas) but those are more resort style hotels. This is a much smaller hotel, very clean, very comfortable room--overall strong choice. I have stayed at the westin excelsior Venice in the off season. The room at the westin was upgraded on points with canal view, but even then, that room was only a small step up from the dell'Opera room but at least twice the price. I would definitely stay here at Hotel dell'opera again.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a family suite with view on the canal. Very good size room. Clean, helpful front desk. We made reservation on the hotel website and probably for that reason had a bottle of Prosecco offered :-). 5mn walk to St Marco. We will stay there again. The only thing to say is a very basic and not sufficient breakfast. And our room was a little noisy in the morning when they were preparing for the breakfast.

Overall we were quite pleased with this hotel. The room was a nice size, quiet, and clean with a small balcony. The staff was very friendly and anxious to help. The breakfast was excellent. The location is within a short walk to St Marco Sq. The only negative was the shower - only a hand-held shower and unable to stand upright in bath because of sloping roof. Rating would have been a 5 if not for shower.

Great location, nice quiet hotel. Large opulent styled rooms, very Venice. Helpful staff with very good dining suggestions. Beautiful sunlit breakfast room. Godolas passing just below the windows is amazing!

The hotel is strategically located near Piazza San Marco with short cut to the grand canal & shopping area. However Venice being Venice can be traumatizing to walk around even with a map! The hotel provides good services and breakfast is wonderful. A little disappointing is the room which is a bit small & plain. Reception area is impressive enough. Suggest to have more pillows and the extra bed should be replaced. Amenities in the room is very basic.

This hotel is located very close to Piazza San Marco and other main attractions. Room was spacious with a canal view, you can see the condolas right from your window. Good value for the price considering the location. Staff was helpfull and carried our luggage to the room. Only minor dissapointment was the breakfast.

This hotel is in a great location to explore Venice! The hotel staff were extremely helpful and provided some good restaurant recommendations (vital advice in Venice to avoid being disappointed with your food). Our room was clean and spacious but nothing spectacular to look at (on a city break this was not important to us). Nice quiet hotel but that was probably because our view was a wall! Breakfast was ok but nothing great.
