I've been here 3 times now and the food is not anything that will knock your socks off, but for what you'll find in Venice this is a pretty decent place. Most restaurants here serve touristy food that has no flavor and tastes like it was frozen. The meals at Casin dei Nobili at least have a little flavor, not to mention that the atmosphere is fantastic and the prices are affordable. I have found the service to be hit or miss; the first two times we got a friendly waitress, but last night we got someone who was a little cold. We sat down at 6:00, and by 7:00 the place was packed (they take reservations). We got a croquette appetizer, 2 large pasta dishes (I recommend the fettuccine with ragu), and a half liter of house wine for 46 euros.

Not much to say really. We had to wait 90 min for our food. Put down to Terrible service.
Dispite ordering off the specials. We were served a fat and gristle ridden slice of inedible veal and reheated potato that had to be returned.

It is said that this is the place to go to Venice for Pizza. The pizza was good, but not really worth a special trip. We also tried the steak (a bit undercooked) the salad (large and fresh) and a special sea bass, which was the best of the lot.
The service was really very nice and catered well to a mostly foreign tourist crowd, never being short or rude.
This is a perfectly good and safe bet, particularly for families- it is just not the place to go for a memorable meal.

It can be difficult to navigate the courses in Italy and this place does pretty good pizzas so you could order one on its own with no 1st course etc.
Food overall not bad, but not as good as you would expect from Venice.

This was recommended by Venice TA forum experts and regulars as I wanted a restaurant with a view - without the tourist traps of Rialto.
It fitted the bill perfectly - it was a glorious sunny day in early October. We came here for a bite between lunch and dinner and just had pizza. The pizza was okay - not great - but that didn't really matter as the view up and down the canal was picture perfect. We loved it and were going to come back for dinner to see what the rest of their menu was like, but we didn't make it.
If you're in Venice on a clear blue sky day, then this is THE spot to be.
My four stars are for the atmosphere and location.
