“A lovely hotel, a great stay in Venice”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

We stayed at the Ruzzini for 3 nights 7-10 September and loved the hotel. The rooms were lovely, overlooking a canal one side, small streets on the other. The hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere, staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived by their organised transfer form the ariport, a real experience to arrive at your hotel via a private water taxi...plus we enjoyed a tour of Venice they organised for us, again by private boat, with champagne.
The hotel's location was perfect, just a few minutes from San Marco (once we got our bearings!) but away from the madness, on a peaceful and pleasant square. Breakfasts were a good selection of hot and cold food.
It would have been nice to perhaps have seating outside the hotel in the sqaure maybe something the hotel would consider providng in future. Apart from that, we can recommend this hotel for a relaxed and comfortable stay in Venice......

spent 4 nights at Ruzzini Palace Aug/Sept prior to cruise. As my husband is disabled we always need a little extra assistance on holiday. From the outset, Francesco and all the staff were brilliant and helped us with everything we needed, starting with organising our private transfer from Marco Polo Airport, directly to the Hotel's private pier. We were greeted very warmly and offered complimentary refreshments whilst we were given a choice of rooms. Any help and guidance we requested was given in a friendly and helpful manner. Lovely place to stay.
This hotel is in a superb location. It is spotlessly clean and the breakfast of a good standard.

Wow we loved this hotel, the staff were fantastic, very friendly. They were quick to respond to any request we had and never once did they try to push the Murano trip, in fact it was never discussed. We had a room that overlooked the square and it was small but really lovely. Breakfast was great as was the coffee and the bar at night for a drink or cocktail was really good. Great location, close to most things we wanted to see. Found an amazing shop that sold handmade and hand painted masks, the artists were a delight. The best places were in the small alley ways rather than the touristy main water ways. We fell in love with Venice and would stay in Ruzzini Palace again without hesitation it was really a great place to stay.

Our 2nd trip to Venice.Perfect choice for service and location. On a moderately quiet piazza yet close to everything. Large lovely room with pleasant staff. Every amenity ,even a full ice bucket for us "americans" We arrived on one side by boat and left on the other side and just easily rolled out suitcases to the Rialto stop to go the the train terminal. Breakfast was another plus!

Room Tip: We loved 101 on the Piazza but im sure rooms on the canal are lovely too

My wife and I stayed here on the final leg of our honeymoon. The hotel is in a great location - Venice is quite compact and we were able to walk across the city in just over a couple of hours. It was only a 15 minute walk down to the Piazza San Marco.
The room we were given overlooked the square rather than the canal so we were worried about noise from outside, but we never heard any noises from outside when we retired for the night. We did find, however, that the walls between our room and the next were very thin, and were able to hear word for word what was being said in the next room. Again, this didn't cause us any lost sleep, but was a bit annoying when we were back in our room relaxing before heading out for dinner.
The breakfast and bar was pleasant, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I would recommend having a look at this hotel if heading to Venice, but maybe not if you're looking for a quiet, romantic room in which to relax in during the day.

Dear Guest,
We thank you very much for your 3 stars review. Venice, in general, is a very quiet city (no car traffic or...) but we can say that quietness it’s always very subjective and not just depending on the accommodation itself. We can only say that the walls of our Hotel belongs to the XV century and shouldn’t be so thin. Wishing you’ll be back for a quieter stay... we send you our best regards.

This hotel is amazing right on Campo Santa Maria. My wife and I stayed there for three nights during our honeymoon and we were extremely happy we chose Ruzzini Palace. We upgraded our room to one of the larger suites and it was worth every penny. Waking up to that view is priceless and the room is beautifully decorated with original paintings and frescos. The staff is very friendly and professional. They will provide you with great dining suggestions if you need them. Another plus for this hotel is that water taxis and gondolas are able to pull right up to it. Which is great, especially after an exhausting day exploring Venice. You will not be disappointed if you stay at Ruzzini Palace.

We were three people in the junior suite which overlooked a very quiet plaza. It is quite a walk from the parking area, but if you pack a small backpack or have the hotel arrange for a boat to bring in your luggage it could start your experience off nicely as the canal runs along the backside of the hotel. We were only there for a night but we intend to extend our trip the next time. The breakfast was very good, but the breakfast area is closed in without views. We would suggest to the hotel in good weather to make tables and chairs, umbrellas outside the front entrance to at least enjoy the plaza while you enjoy breakfast. In Italy, it has been our experience even with a 5 star rating to ask for the suites since the rooms can be tight. The second bed that was put into our suite was horrible, a sleeping bag would have been comparable if you add extreme lumpiness. However, the main bed was comfortable. A must to have on your Italian holiday is plenty of reading material, ipad, or shows on the laptop. The only tv we ever see is english news in any 4 to 5 star hotel. For security purposes, the hotel is locked at night but there is staff on duty to allow you in or out. The decor in our room was old fashion. We chose this hotel for its' quiet location as Venice is trampled by tourist hourly, at every hour. The staff at the front desk is very helpful for information about restaurants, tours, etc. When you first arrive to Venice you can chose between the people transport which is one euro per person or the water bus which is 20 euro per person. We bought the water bus by mistake for 24 hours and we should have purchased the people transport. For the water bus price per hour and you want to be on the water travelling spend the extra money for a private water taxi or a gondola and enjoy yourself without other people herding around. We will stay again in Venice and we hope the Ruzzuni Hotel is available for us to stay.

Room Tip: Choose a suite whenever you are in Italy unless you are just not caring how you camp out.
