Positives: Room was nicely decorated and clean, bathroom was mostly clean and spacious, easy enough to find, location was great- short 10 minute walk or less to St. Marks Square, same to Rialto Bridge, or in other direction across Accademia Bridge 4 minutes and you're at a Vaporetto stop which takes you everywhere
Fridge and tv in room
Bathroom was grimy around base of shower
Shower door broke off the moment we tried to slide it open so we spent the trip trying not to flood the bathroom when showering
Aircon barely worked which was really uncomfortable in the middle of August- we had to keep having cold showers to cool down and couldn't open the windows at night otherwise mosquitos would have come in
Breakfast awful- concentrated orange juice, 'toast' from packets with jam, sickly sweet croissants from packets, 'hot' water with sachets of tea or coffee but no milk provided at all- and we had to tell them an exact time we wanted it for our whole stay, very odd and doesn't give much flexibility about when you want to wake up, and it is served in the room which is a bit odd and kind of an invasion of privacy
When we arrived the man who presumeably runs the place was waiting in our room which was a bit strange, he had his stuff kind of spread about on the table and had used the loo as the seat was up and the hygienic strip moved. We payed on arrival but didn't have all the cash on us at the time so he let us pay the rest the following day which was understanding of him. He gave us the key and asked us what time we would like breakfast- really didn't like that at all, we had to pick a time that we had to wake up for every morning we were there for and the breakfast was served in the room, also a bit strange and quite annoying to be honest. There is a cafe of the same name below the 'b and b' so if they are co-owned I don't see why they couldn't have the breakfast there instead.
When we checked out seemed quite rude as he basically shut the door on us, without saying goodbye or thank you, as we were getting our luggage from the corridor where we had to store it for the day before we left in the late afternoon.
All in all too hot, a bit arkward, rubbish breakfast and not worth the money. Only saving grace was the location.
