Myself and my girlfriend booked a day early and there was only one table left. We both thought the food was one of the best meals we had ever had and it wasn't very expensive by Venice standards. The service was excellent. We were slightly nervous when we seen the menu is in Italian but just ask the staff and they will explain in detail what everything is, nearly down to where the food is grown. was €65 for two three course veggie meals and a bottle of lovely wine. Would highly recommend this place.

Good value for money, delicious and alternative italian cuisine served in this delightful corner of Venice. One of the only places on Venice that fish is not served at all - but a great blend of vegetarian and also meat dishes, suitable for everyone. One thing to remember - La Zucca isn't open on Sundays.
Directions:You get here from San Stae vaporetto stop on Line 1 (also served by Alilaguna Arancio line from Marco Polo airport). Get off the vaporetto at San Stae, then go down the Salizzada San Stae to about the middle of the street, then turn right along Calle del Tintor for several meters until you get to a small bridge. You have then found La Zucca.

Go here for a meal - you won't be disappointed. Even a non-vegetarian like me enjoys the food.

La Zucca was the best meal I had in Venice and one of the best during my four city tour of Italy. Fantastic food for reasonable prices and good service. Nothing was disappointing. I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time, I did see some groups walk in and be seated without any reservations, but it can be a pretty busy place so better safe than miss this gem!

Definitely my best meal in Venice, and probably one of the best I had in my week in Italy. Everything was so fresh and flavourful! If you are vegetarian (or if you just like vegetables), you have to make a stop here!
