“Great place to have a prossecco with the locals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

Just off the rialto, most tourits would walk past this without giving it a second glance. Go around 1830 and the square is packed with locals drinking in this sqaure and eating nibbles from the bar. Check out bar muro in the sqaure as well. Great atmosphere.

“Great little sandwiches and cheap wine/prosecco/spritz”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

We went at lunch on a Saturday (line 20 deep) and again on Weds (no line). The first time, we ordered one of each sandwich and croquette and had mixed opinions. The sardine sandwich was particularly strong. The selection of food is pretty limited, but they have spritz (the local orange liquor and soda water), prosecco, and a variety of wines for 2-3 euro per glass. There is a great dock on the grand canal around the corner to sit and eat. Just don't feed the pigeons or they'll swarm.

“One of my favourite places in Venice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

We went on a Saturday afternoon and this place was the perfect venue to grab a bite to eat and a glass of wine having walked around the Rialto markets all morning. No where to sit but on a nice day the square is packed and there is a great atmosphere. The Gorgonzola and speck were our favourite and lots of lovely wine options by the glass for 3 euro each. Great value for money!

“Venetian style!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013 via mobile

Loved this little bar. We tried to stop here on Thursday night but it was shut (it was after 10pm). However we returned on Friday night to see a mass of people drinking. They have an amazing selection of wine, prosecco and tapas. House prosecco was ?2.50 which was resonable. When we were there i think we were the knoy tourists so it was nice to be with the locals!

Definately put this bar on the list. We will return!

“Always the first place we head when in Venice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

Simple but authentic. Outside standing only but that's part of it's charm. Great at lunchtime after mooching around the market or for an aperitivo in the evening. Great selections of wines at very good prices, also possibly the best spritzes in Venice. Lovely snacks (ciccheti) especially the melanzane polpettini (aubergine patties in breadcrumbs). Love it.
