I went to the Caffe Pedrocchi every afternoon on a recent 5 day trip to Padova for an afternoon Prosecco or espresso. One day I was very indulgent and had ice cream. Everything I had was wonderful and came with snacks. It was 5 Euro for a glass of Prosecco and a huge plate of appetizers which was a great deal. The atmosphere is great and the people watching fun since it is near the University. The staff was friendly and helpful and we were never rushed.

Famous historical place with beautiful décor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedrocchi_Caf%C3%A9). It is definitely expensive, but if you take you coffee or drink at the bar you can save a bit. I would not recommend ordering their desert “Stendhal” – extremely sweet egg custard. My prosecco with extra ice was wonderful though. Mint cappuccino was a bit unusual, but not bad.

Oh dear. Having enjoyed an espresso, both at the bar and at a table in the past, we recently took some friends here to show them the columned splendour of this most historic of cafes. However, the experience was ruined by the large groups of tourists and school children filing through, taking photos and listening to their tour guides. We felt as though we were on an airport concourse but here, there simply isn't the room to accommodate so many people. Even the trolley with our order on it had to navigate its way through the crowd, pushed by the uniformed waiter.
My wife complained to someone on duty to be told that the cafe is now a tourist attraction and is therefore on the itinerary of many tour guides who bring their groups right through the middle of the cafe. Such an intrusion.
Like the cafes in St Mark's Square in Venice, one expects to pay more for the Pedrocchi experience, superbly located in the heart of Padua, but to have all those people so close, gawping at you, was not what we had come to enjoy.
If you haven't been to Cafe Pedrocchi, you ought to see it and, if there aren't any tourists trooping through, it's best to stand at the splendid bar for your coffee/tea. That way, it's much cheaper and the tourist groups are behind you and less of a bother.

Caffe pedrocchi is one of the best place to visit in town, the only problem of this place is tha managing of the bar, price are to high for the products and service they give you, Nice to visit as an architectural spot of the town.
