“Basic but friendly, 20 mins from center”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

This hostel is not a luxury place at all, fairly basic but with quite friendly personnel. We were 5, in something like a 2-room apartment with shared bathroom. The rooms were warm though very basic, there was private parking outside, the batrhoom was clean. The breakfast was basic but just enough. Rose from the personnel told us a lot about Padova and where to go. There's bus from the hostel to the center, but you don't really need it, it's a nice 20 minute walk.
I liked it, maybe for what it offers the hostel is slightly more expensive than I would expect, but nevertheless I'd recommend staying in it.

Great and Cheap place to stay if you're travelling with friends.
Big rooms with 5 beds are the best option.
The Breakfest was awfull but it was free so no complain there ;)

It's not near the centrum but there's a good bus connection.
The guy working in tge Reception is just great! ;)

Casa a Colori was one of the cheapest accomodations in Padova. It is quite far from the center and although there's a direct bus connection it's pretty rare and unprecise and only exists during the day.
The hostel is acceptable although it is no more than one would minimally expect from a place you pay to stay at. Anyway, most of the staff is very kind and helpful, the rest was not rude or anything either, they simply seemed to speak only some African language so we just couldn't discover their strengths.
Extras: free breakfast and free car parking

Stayed here for 2 nights, as a base for visiting Venice. Rooms are rudimentary, but clean. Breakfast is simple but abundant. Bus will take you to the station of Padova in 15 minutes. With proper planning, you can be in Venice Santa Lucia within an hour. So if you you want to avoid the high prices they charge in Venice and Mestre, this is a good option. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

We traveled through tuscany and austria and stayed at many hotels and hostels; this one was the worse; even though they try hard IT IS NOT A HOSTEL, it is a 'casa di accoglienza' which means a shelter, IT FEELS LIKE AN ORPHANAGE or a hospital, theres a strong smell of cheap cleanser, pictures pf children in the walls and the furniture seems taken from a mid XX century hospital. Personnel were not helpful in either english, french or spanish; the place is far away from the city center and the rail station; If you're in Padova for a medical visit or, the place is fine; if not, theres many other places you can stay at for a couple euros more (they're worth it, I promise).

I loved my stay at Casa a Colori, and I would recommend it to anyone I know going to Padua and looking for a relatively cheap but quality hostel. I only stayed for one night, but I encountered three different staff members during that time, and each was so nice! We got in a bit later, and they helped us out with recommendations for a place to grab some pizza, since we hadn't eaten yet. The room was clean and the bathroom was good compared to other hostels I've stayed in. Breakfast was pretty good too. The atmosphere is welcoming and very nice!
