“Very comfortable hotel in Padova”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

The Best Western / Galileo Padova is a very comfortable hotel for its price. We went there with 2 small kids for a few days and they enjoyed their stay as much as we did. The hotel is big but not impersonal - they try to please every request you may have, very politely.

We had a "family room" which in fact is 2 rooms connected by a door - kids loved to have their own room. Each room is big, with either a double bed or two single beds. There is also a bathroom (with big shower, no bathtub, toilet and sink), a corridor (nice for a pram), a desk, tv with international channels. Wifi is also available in the room but connection is quite slow. The room is clean (and cleaned everyday - we had the impression they took care not to come when kids took their nap).

The breakfast has a lot of choice, with conventional breads/egg/bacon/cereals/fruits/etc. you will find in any good hotel but also with local specialties (tasty pastries and yoghurt a..o.). Kids loved their breakfast. There is a restaurant in the building next to the hotel: it serves decent food but a bit pricy. Choice is decent. They can prepare specific food for your children but they definitely can't mash it (no mixer). I would advise going there only if you cannot go to the city center.

We also tested the swimming pool. Not all the jacuzzi devices were working but water is hot (tested in summer) and provides ample space for kids to play and enjoy it. It's a pity that sometimes they come to collect the 5 EUR per person (indicated next to the swimming pool, even kids have to pay!) and sometimes not. It would be nice just to have a free swimming pool for people staying in the hotel.

Other small nice things: the big hall has two computers where you can print your plane tickets, breakfast hours are family-friendly (up to 10am and they don't kick you out), space for kids to roam around the hotel, Auchan supermarket close-by, relatively quiet neighborhood (university neighborhood, quiet in summer).

The only potential negative point in this hotel is its location. It's actually quite far from the city center. It's better to take a taxi (than to walk, plus there is no/very few parking space in the center).

Room Tip: Room with view on the river (at the back) are very quiet and have a nice view.

Lovely clean hotel modern and comfortable. Its 15 min walk into the town or directly on a bus route. Breakfast good.
The pool is more a spa pool so not so great for kids and its not included in the hotel price.

We booked a family room for two nights (2 adults, 2 children) and discovered when we checked in that we actually had two adjoining rooms with an internal door and two bathrooms. So there was plenty of space. The hotel is very modern with excellent, comfortable rooms, free, safe parking and extremely helpful staff who even printed off a train timetable for us. There is a restaurant next door that was excellent and inexpensive - the staff of the hotel made a reservation for us when we checked in. The hotel is on the outskirts of town in an uninspiring location but is easy to access by car from the autostrada and 10 minutes' walk from the train station, so an excellent base for visiting Venezia, which is why we were there.
Given the facilitiesand service, this was a remarkably cheap hotel.
The only down-side is that the on-site pool is managed separately and some people are asked to pay, but who is asked to pay seems very hit and miss as you can just walk in from the hotel corridor and access the pool. We swam on both days we stayed and just left on the second day when were asked to pay (we'd had enough by then..). Many people were never asked to pay at all but some were asked when they arrived, so it is a bit confusing. The pool was excellent, anyway.
Overall, we'd definitely recommend the hotel for a short stay, particularly if you are driving.

We stayed here only 1 night, but the room was beautiful, clean, modern and the view was great to the city. It is 15 minutes walk from the nice places and the breakfast is good, too. They have almost everything what is surprising in Italy.

I stayed there with a friend for 2 nights, there was no surprises like in some other Italian hotels.
Everything was just the way we've expected, hotel is new and modern designed, nice, spacious rooms, location outside the center but very easy to reach by car, very good breakfast (one of the best I've tasted in Italy, or maybe I was just hungry :), stuff is trying to be helpful...definitely recommended

I stayed here with a group of friends in June and we really enjoyed our stay. We had a spacious triple room, modern and clean with air conditioning. This is a big bright modern hotel and although it is located outside the city centre it is only a few minutes by bus and the bus stops right outside the hotel. We walked back to the hotel from the city centre in half an hour. The breakfast was very well laid out and there was plenty of choice. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was nice. I thought this hotel was very good value for money, and would consider using it as a base for visiting Venice (15 mins by train from Padua) and the surrounding area in the future.

This Hotel is definitely recommended!. The location is very good and convenient, the rooms are quite large and comfortable. Service at the front desk is great. One of the best things is the restaurant nearby, the food is great! Also, parking spaces and bar with some snacks. Breakfast is sufficient. Only inconveniences are the poor Wi-Fi (at least on 6th floor were I stayed) and small fitness area. Overall, it is definitely a great option on Padova!

Room Tip: Rooms on upper floors have lower Wi-Fi signal
