Well worth the price of admission. Purchased our tickets online in conjunction with the Padua card, which provided free public transportation and admission to other sites. The frescoes are glorious. However, please be advised they run the visits like a well-oiled assembly line. You are given exactly 15 minutes in the chapel, not a second more. That is so not enough time to take in the scale, beauty, and significance of what you are looking at. Therefore, recommend going to the media center and seeing the free video before your timed visit to the chapel (they also give you a visit in the waiting room before you enter the chapel, so there is overlap) and springing for the audio tour. Enjoy!

Everything you read on this is true. Its worth seeing. Obvioulsy do your homework first. I think the padova card was 14 euros which meant it only cost 1 euro to visit the chapel, otherwise it would have been 13 euros. However you must book up in advance.

It gets a lot of hype as do the booking system and the need to book early and get there ages beforehand. I went in September and there was no trouble getting in. I was even admitted at an earlier time than the ticket I had bought the day before because it wasn't full. However allow an extra half an hour to an hour to look around the museum before you go in. It's definitely worth seeing the 15 minute slide show before going through to the chapel (compulsory anyway). The chapel exceeded expectations. It's small and the frescoes so extensive that it's difficult not to be impressed by these and the atmosphere of the chapel. It's also worth walking round outside to the amphitheatre area to get a look at the front of the building which is very elegant. When you've finished don't forget to visit the Eremetani church next door for something rather different but be aware it closes at 12.30.

Having studied Giotto I thought little could be added to the detailed images that you can see in many books - but in the flesh - breathtaking.

We could not get anybody to answer the phone to answer our questions about the pick up of tickets, but we went there the day before after ordering online and were given our print outs for the next morning. It was not really necessary to be there an hour before as stated on the website.
The informative video is with English and German subtitles and moves quite quickly, and I'm not a slow reader. The guide was friendly and helpful with additional questions.
