I had one night to spend in Padua on my way to Slovenia and Hotel M14 was a great choice.
From Padua's main rail station it's a short ride on the tram (perhaps 7 stops) to the hotel, which is just near the huge Prato della Valle square in Padua's old district. It's very easy to walk anywhere you want in the old town, with plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. I believe the hotel has recently been renovated, and it looks very modern and up-to-date inside. My room was small but sufficient and spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was fine.
Breakfast is an extra Euro 5 per person, but worth it, with cereals/muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, bread, etc. The coffee came from one of those push-button machines and that was the only disappointing thing.
