“a perfectly delicious evening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

We stayed in Padova for a week recently (at Isabella Bertocco's Padova Residences) and had the pleasure of trying several restaurants, and by far our best meal was at La Finestra! The proprietor/cook Carlo Vidali was very warm, genuine and engaging. The evening started with his special "Carlopolitan" (prosecco, cranberry, vodka and lime, yum!). For primo we had the Strudel croccante di radicchio tardivo (literally, strudel filled with radicchio, inventive and fun), followed by Gnocchi di patate al pomodoro e timo, con pecorino (really tasty!). For secondi I had the Carre’ di agnello ai pistacchi (rack of lamb with pistachio crust) and Christina had Trancio di baccala' dissalato con crema di fave al rosmarino ed asparagi verdi (Roasted baccala with fava beans and rosemary puree & asparagus). Carlo knew that it was our 20th wedding anniversary and wanted to provide a special dessert, but we were SO FULL! Instead he presented us with a special digestif that his wife made and we had to guess the ingredients....we did not...it turned out to be a liqueur she had made with ginger, juniper berries and hibiscus! Wow! The whole meal was inventive and tasty, the restaurant staff were attentive and friendly...everything was just perfect. Do yourself a favor if you're in Padova and eat at La Finestra. I only wish they had a branch in Seattle!

“Exceeded our expectations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2012

We noted the reviews on TA and we were also recommended to visit La Finestra and we were very happy we went. We eat there twice during our weeks stay in Padua and we couldn,t speak highly enough not only of the great food but also the welcome and friendly service we received. Go there - you won,t be disappointed. Carlo I must write to you and get that Satay sauce recipe!!

“Not unforgettable but good.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2012

The restaurant itself is simple. The service is good and accurate, weater are really gentle! The food: I had big shrimps with nut sauce, simple but good in taste. My girl she had sea scallops muffin, good idea. As main, I had lamb ribs, well cooked! My girl cuttlefish with artichoke, original. We had good red merlot. All the meal was good but not something unforgettable.

“Superb dining experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2012

My wife and I went there once, enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time and enjoyed it even more. We were in Italy for a total of 10 weeks and La Finestra was easily the best restaurant we dined in on our trip. The chef and his wife are wonderful hosts, and the food was truly wonderful and the service was outstanding.
