If you like hiking provide yourself with a very good map. Signposts are missing or wrong or hidden. The signpost for Monzino hut i.e. simply doesn't exist. And the same for many others paths

We travelled through the Val Veny by car and were delighted with the fabulous views. For people wanting to hike, it is paradise. There are two very nice camp sites along the way, where it is possible to rent small chalets if you don't wish to camp. Two restaurants are on-site and one has a small grocery shop. Another restaurant can be found at the end of the valley. All staff in these establishments are very welcoming.

Visited the valley and two refugios on a day trip. Very nice view all over the valley. View of more glaciers sliding downhill from Mont Blanc. Fantastic views.

Known as a Summer camping and hiking paradise, I was a little cautious about hiking through the valley to Lac de Miage.

Due to work being done on the road we had to leave the car below the church at Notre Dame de Gxxxx and walk the rest of the way.

We hit snow at 1440metres, but it simply added to a simply stunning day out. Around 24km round trip, around 800metres of generally, gentle ascent. Other than two other hikers the valley was ours, beautiful , Autumnal colours, generally clear skies. Don't try it in poor weather.

Didn't really want to share, wanted to keep it a secret!

Val veny is a place where you have to go early in the morning. First of all to se the sun shine on the mount blanc side of the valley. Second to get a parkkingplace in the end of the road. After parking you can walk all the way to col de la seigne 2500 m.5 hours tour retour. On the way you pass refugio elisabetta wher you can eat and drink veery good with a beatiful wiev. But do not stop there for ever. Continue into the valley or try to enter the peak behind the refugio. The area here is also very good for randonnee in the winter. Try this and you will not regret.
