“A very nice hotel with excellent staff”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

We spent a night at the Hotel Pavillion and were very happy with our stay. The hotel's location was convenient for us, just a short stroll to Courmayeur's pedestrian mall and right across the street from a small grocery store. The hotel was clean and well-kept. The rooms were spacious by any standard, but especially so for a European hotel (though the shower stall was a tight fit). We also made use of the pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna and thoroughly enjoyed them all, although the Jacuzzi was merely warm, rather than truly hot. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel and we thought they did a very nice job with both, particularly the dinner. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, attentive, and helpful; some of the most professional I've encountered anywhere. I also give them bonus points for having free Wi-Fi, faster and more reliable than is typical in a European hotel, blackout blinds and turndown service. This is the best hotel I've stayed at anywhere in Italy.

We stayed here in February and it was great. The location is amazing, right by the lift and a short walk from the restaurants and bars. The swimming pool and jacuzzi is lovely after a hard day's skiing and it was clean, tidy and an oasis of calm. We ate one night and thought the food was very good, not amazing, but well worth the money and offered much better value in fact than eating at a cheap restaurant in the town. Staff were lovely, polite and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Very nice hotel, with great service. In the morning the breakfast buffet is simply great! Really good food and confortable livingroom for the guests.. the rooms are really nice, it seems to me it missed anything. Really nice place for family, the hotel if confortable and the family that run it provide easily everything you need and can give you really good informations. Mister Massimo especially was really gentle to explain a lot about the history of the village. For the quality of the service and the food the price is really good. THE TERRACE CONNECTED WITH THE LIVING ROOM AND THE BAR IS HUGE AND WE SAW SOME OF THE BEST SUNSETS OF OUR LIFE!

After reading many negative reviews I was Expecting an old run down hotel but I had a good surprise. The hotel is old but still very nice! The room was good size for 3 of us. The staff were very nice and helpful. We had a special rate which was more expensive than what I always get with the hotel we stay often but it was still good value. The breakfast was continental breakfast, the Sauna and Gym were small but nice. Overall thanks to the staff for our very nice stay...

This hotel is not up to standard. The swimming pool has algae and the jucuzzi has cracked tiles and rubble on the bottom. The pricing is outrageous you have to pay for the sauna and WIFI. The rooms have a peculiar smell our room was very dated. The one good thing about this hotel is it's staff. The aged porter climbed on to an unsafe roof to retrieve a room key. This hotel is not up to it's four star rating.

Our stay at the Hotel Pavillion in Courmayeur was perfect in every way. From check in to check out we were impressed with the facilities, the room quality, the incredible views and the lovely service that we were shown by ALL the hotel staff. The hotels location is perfect as it is a comfortable 3 minute walk to the ski lift which takes you up to the ski area of the mountain. The rooms are big and very clean, and so are the bathrooms. Some rooms have balconies, and face the most incredible mountain views you could wish for. The breakfast has a very nice choice of both hot food as well as the usual continental breakfast, and lovely coffees and hot chocolate. They hotel also has a lovely big pool and spa area which was perfect to relax in after a hard days skiing. In all I will make sure to try and stay in the Hotel Pavillion any time I come back to Courmayeur.

We stayed for a week's skiing. The location is very close to the main cable car and only a few minutes walk to the main street. We had interconnecting rooms and although they were a bit dated they were still way above average. They were renovating some nearby rooms and they looked perfect. As another reveiw said, choose a room at the back of the hotel since the rubbish was cleared from the street at the front at about 7.00am although this didn't bother us too much.
The Evening meal consisted of four courses plus salad and cheese. I totally disagree with the previous reveiw that said there was not enough food, to the contrary there was too much! The quality was very good but not excellent. The service was excellent, proper silver service as good as any 5 star hotel. The wine list was long and it is easy to spend above your budget but still better value than London restaurants.
The pool was free but you have to pay for the sauna/steam room. The lady who runs the pool expects you to abide by some extraordinary rules. You must use the pool then the hot tub but not keep going from one to another. We had two teenage children who made friends with other children at the pool and were told off severely for jumping in and making too much noise. I suggested she put up a notice defining the rules but she said she didn't want too many rules! Frankly I found this quaint and rather old fashioned which was amusing rather than annoying.
Overall this hotel exceeded my expectations and we will stay there again.
