welcome was good, this was our first time in a club med hotel it was brilliant as this was a holiday to learn snowboarding every thing was included lessons lift passes etc so we had no extra costs except our evenings down in cervinia village which isn't expensive for a bite to eat or a drink its easy to walk down but getting back up after a few took a bit longer, people in resort and village were lovely, our snowboard instructor Gerard ottavio was very good and had loads of patience and knew all the best places for beginners thanks, will defiantly go back. food was good in hotel rooms comfy but would upgrade to room that's a bit larger than a club room next time. pool and spar were very nice this hotel had every thing you could want from a winter hol whether skiing snowboarding or just resting enjoying the views we even went out on snow doos which is a must another must is to go up to the boarder with Switzerland and have a snack in the restaurant and admire the views. we went in 2009 and have since been to two other club meds, val d Isere, and saint morize nether were as go as Cervinia

Room Tip: up grade from a club room

This was my first time skiing in Europe and also my first time staying at a Club Med. It was great. Cervinia is a very good place to sky, although it may get very windy sometimes (note that this is not a problem at all when you are on the chair lifts, since they have a removable plastic bubble that keeps all the wind out - a great device that I would also like to see in other ski resorts). We did get two fantastic days of sun, which were great and allowed us to ski from Italy to Switzerland (we had lunch at Zermatt - very nice). I don`t know if it was the week that we were there, but there were no lines at the lifts at all. Lots of beginners and intermediate runs. People wanting some challenge had to go off-piste (Cervinia is actually a very good place for those that are learning to ski or snowboard). One of the differences that I felt with regard to north-american ski resorts was the low number of snowboarders. In the US I feel that it is 50% boarders and 50% skiers. In Cervinia, only about 10% or 20% were boarders. I don`t know if this pattern repeats in other European ski resorts.
I liked the hotel a lot. The room was very good, although the shower area - like most European hotels - was a bit small for my taste. The food was very, very good, and abundant. The restaurant is a buffet style restaurant and very large, but at the same time very welcoming. I did not use the pool, but I heard that it was not very hot at all. I also did not go to the sauna, but I heard that you had to pay extra (if I recall correctly, 12 euros per day). The one thing that I missed was a hottub. There is a van that goes to downtown Cervinia every 5 or 10 minutes, but you can also walk there - 10 minutes. We had dinner in Cervinia one night - it was ok but not great.
The hotel is ski-in but not ski-out. In order to get to a lift, you have to take the hotel`s van to downtown Cervinia and from there board a gondola. Coming back, however, there is a run that goes almost to the front door of the hotel.

As a group of 7 (one non skier), we have just returned from Club Med in Cervinia. The welcome we received on arrival at the hotel was excellent and all through the week the staff were willing to serve and always there with a smile and a greeting. The hotel is extremely well run and the food was amazing. Everyone was very friendly. At first we thought not being able to ski into and out of the hotel was going to be a problem but the shuttle service they operate was perfect. There was pretty much a mini bus on tap to take you to the slopes/shops or back to the hotel. There was a ski run back to the hotel which was pleasant. The only small drawback was that the bar area got busy in the evenings and sometimes it was difficult to find somewhere to sit - especially if you wanted to go somewhere quiet. You can purchase internet access but it was unreliable and was only working for 1/2 the time we were there, you could only use it on 2 devices which could prove difficult if you want to keep in touch with business activities while you are away. We were lucky enough to have a room with a bath with is always welcome after a day on the slopes, out friends however only had a shower and they found this disappointing. One of our group was ill just after arrival (nothing to do with the hotel) and the staff were very helpful, taking meals and drinks to the room during this time and contacting the doctor & collecting perscriptions etc. The skiing was pretty good although we had a couple of days where it was very windy and the upper slopes were closed which pushed everyone into a smaller area. We also had a couple of days with brilliant sunshine and 0kmh wind which enabled us to ski over to Switzerland (all covered on the pass issued on arrival) Overall the stay was brilliant, I would definately go back and recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel is divided into two sections connected by a corridor, the rooms in one side of the hotel a...

I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews published on tripadvisor. Everything changed once I got there. Arrived really late (about 01am), coming by taxi from Milano. We were received by 03 staff members. A small buffet was still serving some cold dishes, which was a relief after such a long journey from Brazil. Everything about club med is so convenient. You get your own ski lockers close to the pick up point. Vans will take you to the main lifts in about 2-3 minutes. Despite not being ski in/ski out, there's a trail that leads back to the hotel, not very hard to miss though (intermediate run). Food is simply awesome (we had sushi and lobsters one day). Drinks served are varied. There's actually a club med restaurant in between some runs (Plain Maison), which is very convenient to warm up and have some food/drinks. The staff seems always to be happy and helpful.
CONS: no outdoor whirlpool; indoor swimming pool too cold; no steam sauna (just the dry one); expensive fee to use the sauna; staff did not go through all the basic information the first day (instead, they gave us a booklet); long lines for the vans at the end of the day; long lines to pick up and turn in your skis (only two staff members at the ski shop for dozens of guests); lots of rude guests from Russia that seems not to respect any lines (had some problems a few times); bed not so confortable.
All in all, a great trip.

My husband and I along with my family spent 8 nights here in December 2011. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and everything is very organised on arrival so that you know when you can get your ski's and ski pass etc.

The food was amazing, loads of variety, there were snacks from 7pm as well at the bar so there is always something available to snack on. There is a restaurant located on the slopes which is ideal, you can book the night before to reserve a table for lunch. We ate two meals at a restaurant on the slope and they are very expensive so very worth sticking to the Club Med restaurant!

There are shuttles available to take you to and from the ski slopes which is great!
The skiing was great, you can go to the top and stand on the border of Italy & Switzerland and even choose to ski into Switzerland.

The rooms were average, small but clean but we did find that there was a problem with the hot water every now and then which isnt ideal. Wifi was not free and we had to pay 20Euro for the week we were there.

We were there over christmas and it was very festive. We only attended 1 of teh evening plays and I wouldnt reccomend them from the one experience we had.

All in all we absolutely loved it here!

18th to 26th December 2011
My family and friends just got back from Clun Med Cervinia. On the 24th December 2011, Christmas Eve. 6 rooms were burgled and safes were ripped off from the closets in our rooms. Money, video camera, ski gogglr and valuable were stolen!! It all happened while everyone was enjoying the Christmas dinner!??
Shocked and unbelieveable, Rooms were opened into and not broken into! We felt so unsafe and no assitant was offer to us to change lock for the remaining night.
We had to go after the management for assitant before checking out on the 26th because moneny was stolen and we had few more days in italy....
Police report was made and insurance claim forms were submitted. we can only hope for besr reply from club med.......
