I was really looking forward to a meal in this restaurant because of my love for fish and the great reviews. Sadly, though, it was just average.
We started off with the "sinfonia di antipasti" and a clam spaghetti dish. The "sinfonia`' is made up from 7 different (large) 'bites' of starters. Well, the only notable of the seven was the fried mullet - the greatest disappointment was the fish parmigiana, where really the only taste I could detect was the bechamelle sauce. It was a corner piece, so perhaps the condiment had not got there, all the same it was quite unsatisfactory.
The clam spaghetti were also a bit of a letdown - true, it was more clams than spaghetti, always a good sign, but the taste just wasn't there, and the spaghetti were either over cooked, or of a lesser quality than I am used to. Reported the overlooking, but got no comments back.
We then had a rather large 'lampuga' fish for two, which had a great consistency, though again a bit of a letdown on flavour. Another somewhat disconcerting fact was that we were served an already cleaned one (why?), rather than the one in the display tray.
Some people rave about the place, so good for them, but not a place I will be returning to.
