“The deepest sleep since a long time”
Reviewed January 3, 2014 via mobile

The hotel is a very elegant structure located in the surrounding of Trento. The facade is very sumptuous and you feel like a prince arriving in front of it where you park your car. We stayed in the new wing (in front of the old wing) where the spa is located: there is a stunning underground corridor that connects that two structures that looks like a gallery in a history museum.
I don't waste time praising the breakfast, the spa, ... Everything at a very high level. What surprised us was the TOTAL SILENCE in the room which allowed us to sleep with the two children till 9.45 which is an absolute record if you know what is like traveling with your family. Superb! Wish we can go back there soon

The hotel is a spectacular jewel, fantastic view and extremely quiet. Short drive into Trento, although the hotel is more than enough to keep you satisfied for more than a few days! We were given a room in the old villa and the room is a show on it's own! Staff are fantastic, very cordial and helpful and work hard to keep you pleased and satisfied. A return trip is a must during the summer to take in the most of the park area and mountain air. You will need a car if you want to more around, to visit Trento and such as it it up in the hills. Breakfast although plentiful and typically Italian, could use with something warm (such as bacon or sausages) and not just eggs and toast.

This was an unexpected gem in out trip in 2009. We called on the off-chance from the road from Bolzano and were given full instructions on how to find the hotel. The entrance through a narrow gate in a high stone wall was daunting, but after that it was pure magic. The grounds are extensive and beautiful. The room we were given was luxurious and so quiet we slept in the next morning till after 11:00. The food and service in the restaurant was exceptional and the cost was well below our expectations. We are planning a trip in the same area in 2014 and will make this a definite stop purely to revisit this hotel.

Villa Madruzzo was once the summer palace of the Bishop-Prince of Trento, a fellow named Madruzzo back in the XVI/XVII century. This place exudes elegance: from the gardens, to the architecture, to the gravel driveway, to the door frames, to the bathrooms (marble sink and floors, by the way) to the dining room, etc. On top of it all, there´s the professionalism of the staff: they are very courteous and attentive. The food at the restaurant is unbelievably good. Even if you do not end up staying at this hotel, it is at least worth it to go to the restaurant and have lunch or dinner there. You will not be disappointed.

The hotel is somewhat far from the city center. Fortunately I had a rental car, so it was not difficult to get around. If you do not have a rental car, then you will probably have to get around by taxi because I do not know if there is a bus line that goes near the hotel.

In sum, this hotel is for people who like classic elegance and who like culture and history.

Villa Madruzzo is a former 16th century palace, and the architecture is a real treat. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfast was first rate, and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. We dined at Villa Madruzzo twice, and the meals and service were very good. It is located on beautiful grounds, but does require a car to get around.

Stayed at the Villa Madruzzo for a conference at the beginning of September and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The location is perfect, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The facilities are great, with pool, spa and jacuzzi.

Most importantly, however, the service was great throughout. All staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to accommodate. Michael, from the restaurant, was especially friendly and very helpful - always offering his services with a smile and a great attitude (even if some of those things were not part of his regular duties!).

All in all, I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants some rest and high quality relaxation.

Stayed here in August and September. Another one of those distinguished Hotels I cannot praise enough. Staff exceptionally helpful, friendly and efficient. On arrival and with so much luggage, even the Receptionists do not shy away to help. In September we stayed in the new sector. Beautiful, with great views over the vineyards. A clean and very spacious bedroom and a bathroom big enough to accommodate the beauty products of 2 girls on the road. Excellent and varied breakfast. Our waiter Michael, spoiled us with our obligatory glass of fizz each morning. All the staff are very friendly and most speak English and German. Dinner at the Restaurant, is exceptional and plentiful. Prepared with passion for the palate. Waiting staff at dinner time are attentive and food is served promptly. I enjoyed the gardens and outside seating area to relax after a day trip. Mr. Pollioni and his team deserve all the praise for making guests's well-being their priority. I am definitely staying at Villa Madruzzo again in 2014.

Room Tip: On previous stays, we stayed in the Madruzzo Room. Stately, with aristocratic Flavour. In September...
