Stopped here for one night in August whilst driving south - it's only 5 minutes off the autostrada but blissfully quiet. Room was very comfortable - huge by European standards and very reasonable. The restaurant was excellent and in use by lots of Italians. Breakfast was plentiful and very northern Italian (this is a good thing!)

Room Tip: If you like to swim choose a belvedere room as the pool is in the same building

I've been 4 times at Villa Madruzzo and for sure the best in Trento. It's not a downtown hotel but if you're driving, you can't loose.
Service is fantastic and the restaurant is one of the bests in my life. Traditional Italian food with typical wine from Trentino area.
Rooms make you feel at home because the hotel is like a big house.
Location is not very easy to find, but once you're there, you don't need to get out.
For sure I recommend and I'll stay again.

Room Tip: Avoid top floors during summer time.

A great experience at this hotel. The hotel has several buildings in a complex in the hills overlooking Trento. The main building is historic looking, while the other buildings look more modern. Stayed in the old building. Rooms are elegantly appointed and huge, with a sitting area including a couch, and a comfortable king bed. There is flat screen TV, coffee maker, fridge, and air conditioning/heating unit. The breakfast buffet includes pastries, fruit torts, cheeses, boiled and scrambled eggs, yogurt, and Italian and German style breads. It was included in the price of the room, which was 99 Euro per night. Staff was friendly and the service is good. The bathroom is small, but does the job. There is a shower and bidet, no tub. The on site restaurant is outstanding. It is a bit formal and also serves as the bar with veranda seating. There is a less formal restaurant about 1 km away called 4 stagioni that is more of a family place, but also has incredible food. This hotel provides free parking and Wifi, although the wifi is spotty. They also have laundry service. It is a few km away from the center of Trento in a small community called Cognola, which is also served by bus.

When visiting cities in Italy over the years, we've found that our best experiences were in hotels outside the city center. This was no exception. Villa Madruzzo is a five to ten minute drive from the center of Trento, but it's well worth it. It's located in an upscale suburb, with beautiful views over the countryside. The original hotel building is gorgeous -- it was formerly the villa of one of the most important figures in Trento's political history. Recently, a separate building has been added with modern rooms with balconies.

We had reserved one of the rooms in the modern wing, but when we arrived the receptionist reported that there was a room available in the villa and that we might want to compare the two and make a choice. We did, and opted for the room in the villa, which was bigger, and gorgeously decorated. It felt indeed likely living in an important person's villa. We missed out on the balcony in the modern wing, but for us the beauty of the room more than compensated.

We enjoyed breakfasts and dinners on the villa's outdoor terrace, driving into Trento and the Brenta Dolomites for our daily sightseeing.

We had a GPS, and thus had no trouble finding Villa Madruzzo. But it seemed that it would be truly a challenge to find it without a GPS.

We came to Trento for a wedding and wanted to treat ourselves by staying somewhere a little bit special and Villa Madruzzo did not disappoint. It was a bit tricky to find but once we were there we loved the set up. The hotel is divided into two sections, the old building that has the restaurant and rooms with more character and the new wing with stylish new interior. We stayed in the new wing with a balcony and amazing views over the vineyards. We felt is was great value for money, the room was immaculate, bed super comfy and big plus for the tea/coffee making facilities! Staff were wonderful at the hotel but I must admit that the service was not quite as attentive at the restaurant. There was a wedding on whilst we were having lunch on our second visit and we felt like we were an annoyance to the staff and felt like we got a rushed service. The food was good but for the money we paid I was expecting more. Also its worth noting that it is a 12 euro taxi trip to town and it is not walkable. But overall great experience, unfortunately for us the pool, gym and Jacuzzi facilities were yet to been open to the public but especially when they open this place is well worth a visit !
