They say it's all about location, location, location! And this could not be more true for this hotel! Right on the main piazza close to shops, restaurants and the train station. Just a short walk to the museum and beautiful river and parks too.
My room was spacious and clean and equipped with everything you need, including free wifi. The staff are so friendly and helpful, particularly in the restaurant. Speaking of which, the food is fantastic and it's the perfect place to sit back, have a great meal, a drink or two and watch the world pass by!
Another amazing aspect is the wellness centre, with spa, multiple saunas (turkish sauna was my favourite) and massage therapist. Great way to finish off a big day of shopping! I have visited this hotel on three occasions, twice with small children. I have found it to be child friendly and a cot and bedding was also provided. I will be back without a doubt!

Room Tip: With a view to the piazza and Dolomites! Amazing to wake up to each morning.

I was fortunate enough to stay at the Hotel Citta for a couple of nights in October with my wife. I genuinely couldn't really fault it. The location was perfect. Right on the main square with beautiful views and easy access to excelletn shopping, bars and restaurants. The rooms were lovely and comfortable and the bed gave me an amazing night's sleep. The staff were all very friendly and more than willing to help with any questions I might have and the food was excellent. Over all, it was an excellent stay and excellent value for money.

I went there in order to see the Christmas market with a friend of mine. We booked a full-size bed room and we saved some money. It was ok and also the room was fine but nothing special. The best things of this hotel are the position (central square) the breakfast which is quite good and the SPA that even if it is small it is quite cosy. If you intend to spend 1 weeks perhaps you can find something better...but if you come to Bolzano only to visit the Christmas market, Hotel Città is perfect: closed to the train station and quite comfortable. Last but not least: the bottle of water and the afternoon tea (with delicious biscuits!) are included in the room price. Overall, we stayed quite well.

I was lucky enough to stay here for a few nights in October with my partner. The hotel is a gorgeous building perfectly located on the main square in the old town. Which makes it perfect for some people-watching from the hotel's café and walking around the picturesque streets in Bolzano.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, a special mention to Matteo in the restaurant - what a lovely guy. The staff at the reception gave us a map and very good directions for our daytrip into the Dolomites. The breakfast is amazing and the food overall is very yummy.
Our room was very nice, clean, comfortable and the perfect size for a travelling couple. I have to mention the fantastic shower as well! Room for two, easily! :)
I will definately stay here again if I return to Bolzano and would recommend this hotel to anyone. In fact, I already have!

Room Tip: If you plan to sleep in, you might want to pick a room that is not towards the main square as it gets busy in the morning. However the view is fantastic!

We have just had 3 nights at the Hotel Citta and can definitely recommend it to others. It is located right on the piazza, a short walk from the train station, and close to city sights. Our rate was very good, and included a wonderful breakfast served in a large bright charming breakfast room, and also free internet. On checkin, we were upgraded to room 208, a large bright room with a balcony which looked on to the main square, and it also had a view across to the Dolomites...it was fantastic to see the colourful pink sunrises over the tops of the mountains. We were very pleased with the room - lots of space, wooden floors, 2 big beds which were so comfortable, a large bench, 2 chairs and sitting chair, plus lots of space for our luggage. The room location was a bit noisy because of the activity at all hours in the piazza, but we didn't mind that at all...it was part of the enjoyment of this beautiful city. Staff were lovely at reception and at breakfast, and housekeeping kept the room clean and immaculate (the floor was a bit squeaky, if we had to find something to critique). Overall, a beautiful hotel, in the perfect location.

Previous reviews were a bit of a worry to us before we arrived but we feel now that those reviews were quite mean, as our stay was perfect. We didn't feel like the hotel was like a dormitory. (Let's face it...the majority of hotels have corridors and stone floors etc. with rooms going off to the side.)

We used our days in Bolzano to see the Dolomites. One day we travelled to Cortina (we bought a mobile card at the train station - 15 euros per person - seniors - and did the 2 trains and bus ride in the day trip). It was terrific, and we'd recommend it if you want to see the Dolomites and Cortina. On the other day we saw the town, plus we did the ride up the Renon gondola which we would also recommend...huge long ride, and fabulous views at the top. Would like to stay longer and actually do some hiking up there.

Room Tip: Rooms on the piazza may be a bit noisier, but great atmosphere. All the rooms though would hear the bells that sound every morning at 7am and 8am!!
