“Thankyou for a pleasant stay”
Reviewed February 1, 2012

We stayed for 2 nights during an extended ski trip when we wanted to get away for a break from the snow.
Easy access by bus from the mountains and only a very short walk (3 minutes) from the Bus Station.
The staff , and I mean all the staff were great. Nothing was a problem, always smiling and willing to help with recommendations and advise.
The included breakfast was a highlight. We have never seen such a broad selection of items. The coffee (not brewed) was made with care and presented with a smile. All the breakfast staff were great.
The room was very quiet, Internet access was available free of charge + spotlessly clean.
The attached Bar and cafe were were full of locals which gives a good indication of the high level of service and food /coffee available.
The recommended nearby dining venues were excellent and warrant a return visit.
We returned to the mountains and rejoined our ski group totally refreshed and singing the praises of the Stadt Hotel Bolzano.

We only stayed one night at the Stadt Hotel Citta on our way to skiing. We should have stayed longer. The hotel is well located within walking distance of the train station and right in the heart of some great shopping. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant downstairs and the breakfast (included) was fantastic with amazing array of choices. We had booked a family room as we were travelling with our two teenage children. I had expected a queen size bed plus a sofa bed for the kids but was pleasantly surprised when they gave the children their own room next door to ours at no extra cost. Both our rooms overlooked the piazza.

We stayed here overnight on a trip from Firenze to Innsbruck. The location of the hotel is just perfect, right in the middle of the pedestrian shopping area. Also the train station is only a few steps away which was very convienent as we were travelling by train. When travelling by car a underground parking is available under the hotel. The city of bolzano is quite charming with small shopping streets surrounded by old buildings in Tyrolean style architecture. You will be amazed how many shops there are in this small town, every big brand seems to have a shop here. A special attention goes to the alpine shops from sportler, which have a enormous assortment in alpine and ski equipment. The citta hotel reflect the charm of the city and is really a part of it. The hotel is quite old but the rooms have been redecorated a couple of years ago. They are not very luxurious but quite original with wooden floor boards. In the basement there is a real wellness centre with turkish bath, big jacuzzi, sauna... very relaxing after a day of shopping or hiking.
The breakfast buffet is really amazing. Varieties of local bread, pastries, meats, cheese, fruits,...the choice is endless. Even prosecco is available.
To end this review, perfect price/quality relation. We will certainly return to this hotel if we are back in Bolzano, it's worth every euro !

We stayed at the hotel during Christmas time. We had a very spacious room overlooking the square and the Christmas market. The view from the front looking rooms and the location of the hotel are the best in town. The hotel itself is a little bit old-fashioned, but you will find all the comforts you need. Extra point for the breakfast, which was really superb. If only it was a little cheaper we would give the maximum rating.

Yes, hotel was clean, but the ambiance was not that good. The design of the rooms were very bad. I stayed two nights at different rooms. My rooms were all without view... I couldn't eat anything at the breakfast. The breakfast room workers were not able to speak English. The night worker at the reception was very rude. He refused to help to park my car. So I don't think to go this hotel again...

This is a convenient place to stay in beautiful Bolzano and the breakfast was the best we had on our trip - plentiful and delicious with lots of variety. We stayed as a family so it had 2 adjoining rooms (3 beds) with a shared bathroom. The bathroom was small but clean, the rooms were decent size and looked out the back of the hotel onto the cobblestone walkway so nice for people watching. We were able to walk from the train station with our luggage (it was a beautiful sunny day) in about 10 minutes with our kids, so no car/taxi necessary. We also walked to the gondola up to Oberbozen and to the Otzi museum, both must sees in this area. The farmers market is a few minutes away and plenty of restaurants very nearby, this is the perfect location!
