Owner description: Designed in 1564 by Vitozzi. It's lined with porticoes and is the real heart of the city: here and hereabouts stand the great buildings that have witnessed the development of the city, from the ancient Roman era to our days. In the middle of the square stands Palazzo Madama and on the side you could see The Royal Theatre, The Royal Palace , the Royal Library (that houses Leonardo da Vinci 's operas). In Piazza Castello (The Castle Square) begin the most important central streets, like Rome Street, Po Street, Garibaldi Street and Pietro Micca Street.

All dishes are great with a reasonable price. The decoration is very nice and comfortable. Don't forget trying vines...

“"Castle Square"”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

This very large magnificent square, Piazza Castello, was designed in the sixteenth century. It is lined with porticoes; you never get wet on a rainy day in downtown Turin. Here are Palazzo Madama, the Royal Theatre, the Royal Palace and the Royal Library, which houses Leonardo da Vinci's operas. These buildings are a reminder that Torino was the royal city where the monarchy resided and reigned.

“Piazza Castello, Torino, Italy”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

If you want to feel free to move around without any traffic interference, I would suggest Piazza Castello in Turin, Italy. Surrounded by renaissance palaces like Palazzo Reale and Palazzo Madama, one can never forget the atmosphere of being a special visitor to this well planned magnificent and richly endowed space. Unfortunately, during my visit, it was raining all the time, so I am sure that I missed much of its charm which under the bright light of the sun's rays, Piazza Castello would look far more striking and impressive.

In the city centre of Torino don't miss a visit to this beautiful square where the king's palace can be visited ,the Palazzo Reale with its wonderful rooms ,the Palazzo Madama with a huge collection of porcelains that were of the former kings and where you can sip a coffee or aperitifs with superb sandwiches in the cafe at the first floor while looking at Via Roma, the Main Street.
