Situated right opposite the train station, this hotel is a good choice for travellers on a budget. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are simple with nice high ceilings (keeping them cool) and ours was not at all noisy. Breakfast is simple (as they tend to be in Italy), but of good quality with freshly brewed coffee. All of the city center is within walking distance.

Room Tip: The front of the hotel looks out on a very busy street, rooms there might be noisy.

The hotel was all that the reviews promised it to be, and more. Bang in the middle of the city, right opposite the Porta Nuova train station (5 minutes walk). As has been mentioned before, the public bus from the airport ends across the street from the hotel, just cross the street and you are there, no stress at all.
The old town, and the Via Roma running through it, starts almost next to the hotel, so you are just a short walk away from all the tourist sites and shops, as well as the marvelous piazzas. Even the river Po is just a 20 minutes walk or so, or a short bus ride away. The check-in was a breeze, we were given our room even though we were two hours earlier than the check-in time. The owners as well as managers were ever so helpful, always guiding us for places to see, restaurants to eat in and preparing early packed breakfasts when we were leaving early for a day trip.
Coming to the room, it was old-school, but very spacious and clean, with places to keep our suitcases, as well as cupboards to keep our clothes. The bathroom too was modern and spacious. The only niggle was that the shower area had absolutely no place to keep our soaps or shampoo, leading to us being forced to place them on the floor while taking a shower. Otherwise, everything was just perfect.

This is a lovely little hotel -no luxury, but cosy and comfortable. The air conditioning worked welll so we could sleep in spite of the hot nights. Almost everybody spoke french and english. The hotel is very central, a few footsteps from the railway station and from the historical center. Many shops, restaurants, and cafés around. Very good ratio quality/price. I strobgly recommend this little jewel.

A brilliant hotel just opposite the central rail station and literally round the corner from the baroque splendour of Via Roma and Piazza San Carlo. A charming elderly lady greeted us; our room overlooked a quiet courtyard (although it was October), it was a reasonable size, clean and comfortable. Not great luxury, but take a look at the prices. The breakfast, included, was, well, pretty much like most Italian hotel breakfasts - after all, most Italians find the idea of eating fried cured pork in the early morning rather weird. And, finally, we were able to park our car outside the front door.
