“Great views from above”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

This has to be seen. It's more for the view over Turin than anything as long as there isn't a haze which there was. The train ride up the steep hill was great. The train ride was €9 once up the hill it was another €2 to climb up the spiral stairs in the church which got narrower the higher you got. On top of this there was another charge for the Royal Tomb what I am not sure as I didn't realise until we got back to the bottom. There are walking trails for those interested as well. If you have a bicycle you can also take this on the train and ride on the hill.

“Top views from the top of the hill”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

Travelling up to the Soperga on the wee rattly train furnished us with some wonderful views of the city, and once the short walk up from the station at the top of the hill was done with, it was great to just sit and gaze out 360 degrees around the city. Recommend the climb up the narrow stairs to the base of the dome too...thoughit would be a little daunting if busy, given the narrowness of the stone spiral staircase

“Don't miss the Royal Tombs”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

The trip here from central Turin is fun, by tram Piazza Castello and then cog railway up the hill (about 50 minutes in total). The church is perched on top of a hill which, on a clear day, should provide stunning views (heat haze confined our view to the city of Turin itself). What is special is the guided tour of the Royal Tombs of the House of Savoy. Our guide was exuberant and enthusiastic (good for one's Italian) and the marble monuments are extraordinarily massive and varied in style. Some are also decorated with exquisite white marble figures. It would have been terrific to have been able to stay longer; the guide ushered us out far too soon.

“nice view over the city”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Its a beatiful place for a walk. If you catch a clear day you might be able to see the city from above. Behind the cathedral there is a green slope with benches, worth checking
