Owner description: The cathedral, built in 1498, is a fine example of Renaissance architecture. One of the most famous medieval relics - the Turin Shroud - is kept here.

Well worth the visit. The story of the shroud is amazing. Gorgeous cathedral.

Interesting to visit but all about that piece of cloth. Curiosity value only or just a cinema to sit and watch the church propaganda on a large plasma screen. Scientifically disproved but still being touted as fact.

You can't actually see the shroud, a picture of the impression of the face hangs above it. It is housed in a box behind glass in what looks like the Royal Box at an Opera House. There is no admission charge to the cathedral or the shroud which in this day and age of commercialism is very pleasing. There is a television which does show you everything you need to know. The cathedral itself is also a bit dissapointing. But you have to see it all if come to Turin don't you......
