The Royal palace is simple outside but has richs interiors inside.
For me the most beautiful palace that i visited in Torino.
I hope the garden will be a juwel to after the works.

The problem facing the preservation of historic properties in Italy is well exemplified by the Savoy Royal Palace. Insufficient revenues and the current economic crisis have stretches budgets precariously thin in Italy. The Royal palace shows the lack of funds in slowly deteriorating silk wallpaper and fringe that has fed many moths. Regardless, the castle and its collections go a long way to showing the contemporary public how the nobility of the time lived and how the need to portray a certain role/position in Italian society has roots all the way back to Roman times. It has a good collection of arms (if you are interested) as well as decorative arts.

An entertaining journey through some vast rooms, several made even bigger by knocking a couple together. I think we ran parallel with the armour museum, because we went into a room long enough to be a zeppelin hangar and there were twelve mounted knights included, mounted on real stuffed horses. You don't see that every day.

We had a Turin Pass and got to see the palace with it. It's worth the visit to see the influence of the different royals. Plan about two hours. As others have said, the best part was the weapons gallery.

A beautiful palace to visit. It was interesting, because the different kings have renovated the palace according to their taste. The best part was the armoury with a huge collection of swords, rifle, armour etc.
