Hotel Victoria Turin Italy
My wife I and I were both speaking at a meeting in Turin. I first asked the organizer which was the best five star hotel in Turin. He said the Golden Palace. It talking with other colleagues who had booked into the Victoria, I realized I had asked the wrong question. I re-contacted the organizer and asked what was the best hotel in Turin. He said the Victoria. When the taxi turned into the courtyard, I was not sure how great this hotel was going to be. It has a very non-descript and non-flashy exterior, but in a quiet location. This turned out to be one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Italy. We had a spacious room on the top floor with a terrace. Excellent bed, pillows, amenities and wireless internet service (free). The service is five star: Rooms made up immediately when they notice you have turned in your room key (the old metal kind). This is very useful for people attending meetings: If you need to return to your room to work, it is wonderful to have it cleaned and ready. Maid service and towel exchange seems to happen magically when needed. But the best, indeed a key reason to choose this hotel is the spa. A beautiful Roman style room with one of the nicest swimming pools in any hotel. Great underwater lighting highlights the blue tile – just spectacular. There are two high intensity turbo jets at one end of the pool that better anything I have experienced (including at several "famous" German spas). There is a Jacuzzi – with good hydraulics but not terribly hot. There are multiple saunas at different temperatures, as steam room and cold still pool. In addition, there is a large table laid out with numerous fruits, cakes beverages etc. This entire spa experience was included in the room price (although a full complement of special treatments is available for extra charge). The front staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast, also included, was a full buffet as well as the ability to order with a very nice garden seating in the interior courtyard. This is definitely where you should stay in Turin!

Room Tip: We had a top floor which was wonderful - other friends were on lower floors looking into the garden...

This is bliss! My visit to Turin coincided with really hot weather, and it was fantastic to arrive at a well air-conditioned hotel where my every need was catered for with the minimum of fuss. The desk staff are efficient and extremely knowledgeable, and the room staff are attentive and offer a high standard of cleanliness. The hotel is very centrally placed, and a short walk from many of the major "sights", but it is quiet and peaceful. The breakfast buffet is superb, catering for a huge range of tastes, and offers inside and outside dining (although the outside courtyard does seem to be used by the smokers who stay there, which is a pity). Although I didn't use it, there is also a very well-equipped spa and swimming pool, which seems very popular.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to reach the same high standard.

Well located in the aristocratic hearth of the first italian capital city, although tucked in a little street, this hotel offers very large and fully functional rooms, a good and rich breakfast and an attentive staff: definitely, the ideal solution for tourism or business in Turin.

What a wonderful hotel for a visit to Turin center. Very nicely furnished, immaculately clean and most thoughtful and accomodating staff. We really felt at right at home. Great local advice on restaurants and things to see and do. Delicious breakfast. Totally relaxing spa. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Worth spending a little more for a deluxe room. Rooms facing the garden face east and are very quie...

Several years ago an ex-pat friend who has lived in Turin for decades suggested I say at the Victoria on an upcoming visit. She said that when all is said and done it is the best place period. So for the last few years I have stayed there annualy and wouldn't consider any other. For me, the hotel is a little 'overstuffed' but everything else is just right. Staff is polite and helpful. The small bar is charming although usually empty. The rooms are small but extremely well appointed and tended to (request a balcony room) with bathroom that are superior. Breakfast in the garden is perfect and delicious...actually, come to think of it, I think "breakfast" is one of the main reasons I come back year after year. The spa is extraordinary (really). Hotel Victoria's location is as good as it gets.

Room Tip: The balcony rooms are my favorite.

We stay regularly at this hotel with our two small children. The hotel is well situated, close to the pedestrian and shopping area as well as the main attractions notably the egyptian museum. Rooms are very clean and well appointed in an old england style (with lots of flowers in the curtains) and bright bathrooms. They can be of a different size so ask before you book. Junior suits are very nice with four-poster beds. Connecting room arrangements possible for families. The common areas are very cosy and nicely furnited (especially during christmas time the ambiance is magic). Breakfast is served in a lovely patio with a very charming inner court. There is a vast choice of pastries and cereals. They added a few years ago a small but well kept spa with a pool area (and strict rules). Staff is extremely helpful (with restaurants f.ex) and friendly. This is defenitely our preferred and only hotel in Torino.
