This 3 star hotel equals many 4 star hotels I have stayed in. A lovely 18th century building with a small but elegant foyer, spacious rooms and exceptionally helpful staff. We had a double room costing 110 Euro which is exceptional value in Torino where basic rooms can cost double this. Our room was nicely furnished and had an excellent modern bathroom. Price included buffet breakfast which was average but OK.

Room Tip: TIP. The location, directly over the road from Porta Nuova station is convenient if you are travelin...

The good: friendly, helpful staff and an excellent central location next to the train station and the airport bus terminal. Slightly grimy and graffitied area, but an easy walk to the tourist centre and it doesn't feel threatening.

Had a single room, which was a bit shabby, but clean. Lounge okay, breakfast acceptable. All in all not a bad choice.

Room Tip: Hard to avoid street noise - higher is probably better.

We stayed one night at the Best Western Hotel Genova. The hotel is in a great location next to the train station, however overall it is fairly average and slightly overpriced.

The check in staff were very friendly. The room was a little on the shabby side and hasn't been renovated in awhile. The bathroom was very basic. Good selection of TV channels.

The wifi only worked for us by sitting on one couch in the foyer very close to the router. It did not work in the rooms and when we enquired about this the response was a shrug of the shoulders. Breakfast was average, with stale pastries etc. We didn't visit the new spa in the hotel because it cost extra.

The hotel is well located, right next to the train station and some good restaurants.

We suggest looking at the many other options in the area, at 100euro you should be able to find a better hotel.

One night in Turin after a fencing tournament was not enough to see much of this beautiful city, but the proximity to the train station helped a lot. I had to take the 8 pm train to Rome the next day and believe it or not could be walking around until 6 pm, take a shower at the hotel - courtesy of a late check out - pack, dress and ... cross the street. Priceless ! I liked the hotel a lot, no complains, friendly staff, buffet breakfast, wi-fi, etc. etc. etc. check it out the website.

The best western Genova hotel is a pretty establishment, and its staff is really nice and helpful.
The location is very good, close to the central station and the airport bus terminal, which makes it a good base to move around in Torino.
The common areas are pleasant, as is the new spa (entrance is €15). The gym is ok - quite small, but there are a few treadmills and machines to exercise.
The breakfast is very good, with a few hot dishes and several cold cuts, cheese and pastries of very good quality.
I stayed 2 nights in a single room on the ground floor, which wasn't too spacious but well appointed for a short stay.
My main complain is that the walls in the hotel are paper-thin and the room doors really slam when closed. So, depending on where your room is and when the other guests come back at night, you hear literally everything - it is like sleeping with the doors open, and you hear a loud slamming of the doors anytime one enters or leaves a room.
Wifi is free but spotty - the signal drops quite often, and it is not reliable enough if your work depends on it.
Despite the other nice aspects of this hotel, I actually had one of the worst stays ever here because of the noise issues. Maybe the rooms on higher floors are better; but I was awaken so many times at night by slamming doors, noise from other rooms and conversations in the hallway that I won't be returning to this hotel anytime. I sleep at least 50 nights/year in hotels and this is the first time I experienced such a situation.

We spent the last two nights in a wonderful room (532) at a hotel in a 200 years building in Turin. The room was large looking out over a courtyard. The windows were very sound proof such that we never heard the train station across the street. The walk to where all the action is was less than 5 blocks. Breakfast was included and very well done.

The main desk staff especially Enrico were terrific dealing with two Americans with no Italian skills. Recommendation for sites to see and restaurants were right on. I don't think they can be credited for our beautiful weather but I think they might have been involved.

Thanks to all.

when we arrived the room we were shown had a large wooden beam disecting it at low level! there was no walk in shower and only hand held shower head attached to the bath taps. we requested a change of room which was actioned the next day. staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Carla who assisted at breakfast gave exceptional service, always with a smile. the breakfast choice was extensive with lots of choice of pastries and cheeses.
Hotel clean in all areas and the beds are comfortable with extra bedding available if needed. although this hotel has no restaurant there is plenty of choice of reasonably priced restaurants close by. although tea and coffee is available milk is not automatically provided. it needs to be requested at reception. the hotel is situated opposite Porta Nuova station which has good shops and restaurants avaialble. although the air conditioning was not working windows could be fully opened and had shutters which could also be opened. at the time we travelled this provided plenty of cool air. this Hotel is in such a good position it meant we could see all the sights we wanted to during the six day stay. would certainly use this hotel again, without hesitation.

Room Tip: no two rooms alike so it seems to be a bit of a lottery. rooms to avoid are those with low beams, so...
