The largest market in Europe! The smells of the fresh herbs and the piles and piles of fresh peaches, figs, plums etc make you want to buy them all!
A section of the market is for clothes - lovely floaty Italian dresses and tops -€12 - a section for household goods. I bought a 9 cup coffee pot for €12. Lots of lovely fruit and veg and an indoor section for meat and cheeses. A whole omorning shopping then a snack and cappuccino. Don’t miss it!

The market is mostly cheap consumer stuff. Mainly clothes, accessories and electronics. There's a huge Deli building. I was told the antiques are only there on saturday so sadly i missed that.
I would recommend for locals rather than tourists.

I took a group of Scottish Cookery students to visit this market. They were astonished by the quality, volume and prices of the fresh products.

I really, really like markets. And this one is great. Huge choice in fruits, vegetables, meat and cheese. But also clothing, soap, flowers, antique,... A very vibrant atmosphere that both locals and tourists can enjoy.

We enjoy markets and this is huge and fun. As usual, watch out for pickpockets, but that's standard advice in big markets. There's something for everyone but what it amazing is to stick around after the market closes and watch how it is broken down, swept, cleaned, and within a very short time it is empty. We saw barrow people trundling their goods down side streets. If it weren't for cell phones we'd have been in the 18th century. Great fun. The fish market and the covered food market on the north side, alone, are worth the visit. Whitebeard83
