But TA doesn't have a button between 'average' and 'very good'.

If you come across this restaurant in your travels, it's worth popping in - but I wouldn't bother seeking it out. You can see the whole thing through rose coloured glasses, or with a dose of scepticism. Lovely old ladies who whizz around between the tables, or perfunctory service? Retro-comfort surroundings or rather unattractive, over-bright 70s nightmare?

My meal was OK. I was bulled into some 'local' ravioli was that undistinguished in flavour or texture. then had a veal tagliata that was a mean portion.

I was told funghi (meaning porcini) were in, so had some on my veal - they were obviously sott'olio, not fresh. And going to the market the following day, where there was not a porcino in sight, kind of revealed that they had taken me for a tourist. Which I am. But not a stupid one.

Great restaurant with grandmothers waiting on tables. Our food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. An ossobuccho, a veal porcini dish, two salads, a cannelloni dish and a bottle of Nebbiolo cost 57 euros. 10 minute walk from piazza Castello. The packages of bread sticks that promptly arrive on the table cost 4 euros so be aware. Menu is in italian only but is easy to figure out. Highly recommended and will come back again.

A crowded Sunday afternoon and not a non-Torino in sight. This is defiantly a local restaurant with sense of being family run. While English is not a strength among the servers, try to figure out the local dishes and order them. Many choices were available that we have not seen anywhere else in Italy.
