“Very bad for the price”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Turin does not have a big offer of hostels, but for the price you pay it is much better to just book a hotel in downtown, maybe you spend a few more bucks (believe me, not so much) and at least you have normal running water, ventilated and quiet room and you don't have to take a bus and or walk for an hour to the slums to get to bed. The shower did not work properly (very weak stream of water, you had to hold it yourself), the airco was inexistent appart from the noise it made, the rooms are too hot and noisy, very bad views, very weak internet connection, and all that for more than 20 euros per night (Around 25) to sleep in a dorm...There are many things they should improve in order to offer a fair quality-price relation.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south are quieter, but they are double rooms. Dorms are therrible.

This really is the bottom rung of the hotels in Turin ladder, really pretty poor throughout. Check in very slow, about an hour - it said on my reservation check in from 15:00, but I was still there at reception past 4 before I got my room key. They gave me a twin room, only asked for a single, my friend asked for a twin and got a triple - check in was chaos. Rooms are basic, dont expect any frills here, you need to take your own towels (although you can hire them for €1). There is a TV in the bar area (not manned), again its pretty basic, and where it says breakfast is included dont get excited as its pretty shocking (unless you like jam where you are in jam heaven). To/from the place is ok, buses are frequent (Nos 52 best one) or taxi costs €10-12 into city centre - there is nothing really in the local area, I felt safe by myself but wouldn't venture too far from the beaten track.

In with all this negativity, the staff were lovely and really friendly (apart from the kitchen hand at breakfast - dont mess with her, dont ask for a second cup of coffee unless you want to hear an Italian ranting and raving about something or other). Other than her, the staff were really friendly

Only since there are not so many good hostels in Turin I can call this hostel as one of the bests;
Keeping in mind that the location is not good at all; Both far from center and not really a completely safe part of the city (In fact the exact place of the hostel is good but in the area in range of 2 KMs around which you may pass sometimes to reach the hostel, there are some unsafe parts of the city!); But from the moment you enter hostel and you find it clean and comfortable you feel OK!
All the staff are not warm and helpful but some of them are really good (For the whole team I can rate as Average).
Rooms are clean and well-furnished!
Prices are suitable.

A really good value - a big room for 2 people, with breakfast, for only ~$40 US per night. The location is safe and quiet, but it is a long (hour or so walk) to the city center and most of what you will want to see and do in Torino. There are some little bars/cafes and a big grocery store (igiante) in a small mall right near by. There is a bus that you can catch right around the corner that will take you right in, but getting tickets for the bus on a Sunday in the neighborhood was tough. Wifi was reliable except on the last day. We never had a problem getting let in - staff was friendly enough & quickly called a cab for us when we needed one. Typical Italian/sufficient breakfast - nothing special and the coffee machine is behind the counter - made me feel guilty wanting more than one espresso! Floor of the room was dirty and the beds were not the most comfortable, but we weren't in the room much, and the price was right!

Room Tip: They have large rooms with four beds - would be a good value for a family or group of friends.

At night you have to ring the doorbell and wait for someone to come and let you in, which on a few occasions took over 10 minutes. Not great when it's -12 outside in the winter! It also took forever to get checked in.

Apart from that, the rooms and hostel were good. The rooms were huge and had loads of storage and plug sockets. Bathrooms were new and clean. Wifi would have made it perfect though.

We've got corner double room on the 2d floor. It was rather big and comfortable. Private bathroom was good. Breakfast disappointed us a lot...nothing to eat at all. Don't try to eat at the hostel, they can't cook normally. Town center is possible to reach about 15-20 min by bus.
Keep in mind that during the daily cleaning they just opened all the doors of already cleaned rooms. So, don't keep any valuable stuff in the room.

Room Tip: They have different room size at the same category. Ask for spacious)
