The bicerin is incredible. The place was recommended by the hotel, and we weren't disappointed. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy a lovely terrace. So,if you're looking for a spot for a shopping or visiting break, do not think twice and go for it.

Indulge yourself with a drink that has to be the perfect combination of coffee and chocolate (called a "bicerin"). All the seats are cozy in this small and friendly caffe, so sit down and drink in the rich atmosphere, wood paneling, and cast iron door. And for the little ones, the hot chocolate is sure to please.

This place is a walk back in time where you can experience the real Turin. The staff are lovely and the drinks are good- I had an excellent hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream. The pastry wasn't as good, but it was still fresh and made locally so you can't really complain!

I go very often to this historical café as I live and work in Turin and I'm think that the disputes about their typical hot drink are not really important. You can like or dislike the so-called "bicerin", You can order just a coffee, etc. In my opionion You should make a stop there for the same reason why You visit the "Basilica della Consolata" on the other side of the square or other famous churches and places. It's like a small museum of the old Turin and its traditions. If possible, do not go on Saturday and Sunday to avoid confusion and long waits.
Enjoy Your coffee break.

Our grandmother use to talk about a special hot drink that she enjoyed when she was a girl in Italy. It was call bicerin: a mixture of coffee, chocolate and milk. She thought it was divine. You can still get it at this cozy shop on Piazza della Consolata. It sounds as if it would too sweet but it is not because they use dark chocolate. You are drinking anti-oxidants. The shop puts together its own boxes of chocolates by hand. It is like something from another century, just like Nonni.
