This gelato is a solid 70th percentile. That's it. I have been traveling in Italy for three decades and have had the best in Florence, Rome, and elsewhere. I don't know why this gets such rave reviews except that the New York Times told tourists it was great. Honestly, it's not even the best gelato in Orta. Moreover, the two trips we made featured overly soft product that melted instantaneously in the 80 degree heat.
