Very friendly staff welcomed us in this local restaurant, which is not a touristic place at all ! An explosion of different flavours comes to your mouth with the simple but beautifully prepared dishes. We really wanted to try the risotto, however it was not on the menu. But the chef made it especially for us ! we had such a great time at this place, so we will be back for sure. The chef Francesco greets his distinguished guests after dinner which is so nice. Prices are average to high, though quite normal for Milano I guess. We warmly recommend this place !

If you are looking for traditional Italian food, go elsewhere, but if you are looking for good, inspiring (and inspired) new Italian cuisine this is the right place! The food is excellent and surprising, the wine list is very very good (and not infinite!), the first time you go there you must try the tasting menu and you won't be disappointed. The atmosphere is fresh and informal thanks to the staff and the furniture. The place is little but really really nice.

Not a place you will otherwise find, but if you make it through whatever means, you will not be disappointed. Quirky, personal and excellent - whether for a 'romantic' dinner for two, or a happy celebration for family or friends, the restaurant will make you smile.

Menu is modest in terms of items, but each dish is fresh, delicious and thoughtfully devised. The menu itself is presented inside a mix of old Italian books!! Cute...

The surroundings are also a far cry from over-blown up-scale eateries around the world, an eclectic and changing mix of antique objects and artworks, which are for sale.

Cosy in the winter and I would imagine cool and airy in the summer. Overall an excellent and off-beat place to discover and enjoy.

The other diners will be a mix of old, young, trendy, arty and mainly Milanese, with a few visitors from out of town, Japanese designers and their team the night we visited.

Cost is reasonable for the experience. Around €100 for two with wine.

Really good food, especially the value of the tasting menu at 55 euros for 7 courses. Little bit of a hidden gem since you should reserve and check the map before going since there isn't a lot nearby, but its worth the trip since the dishes are fresh and interesting. Wine list is also very good value on both Italian and French wines.

It was really difficult to find a place for real "foodies" in Milan. We tried a lot of restaurants (they were recommended by Michelin) but NOTHING. Nothing interesting at all. But fortunatelly we found Pane e Aqua. E BENISSIMO!!!! Respect to its chef Francesco Passalaqua. Red mullet with foie gras, sole with black rice, goat cheescake... Mmmmm.. Can't forget the taste. Strongly recommend to visit it. You'll really enjoy.
