La Tradizionale is a very nice restaurant in the lively district of Via Savona in Milano.

The location is charming: an ex factory with big, airy rooms and a very nice garden.

Despite the big dimension food is excellent and the service not bad.
Of course it is better to go on quiet evenings. When it's fully booked is normal that the service slows down.

Another thing I like of them is that dogs are allowed inside!

The place is big with many tables and lamps upstair are funny. We can sit inside or outside (there is a bar outside). I had fettucini with vegetables and shrimps. It's good but nothing special. There is a large choice of pizzas. I tried a bite, it was correct but that's it. It's not the right place to eat a good italian pizza. I really appreciated my apple sorbet with Calvados. It was very refreshing with this hot summer.
Overall, it's an expensive restaurant for the quality of the food they offer.

this is a returning restaurant, we had such great time here on our last visit to Milan we had to come again.

The waiter
1. very inexperience, you have to ask for everything, Perhaps not the most common to serve olive oil and vinegar. But when you ask for it, bring a plate too will you? Maybe I should pour the thing on the bread basket?
2. I had a tough time cracking open a lobster claw and asked for a cracker, I only had to wait 5 minutes for it.
3. He was serving about 5 or 6 tables, and at times, he could disappear for 5 minutes, and the rest of the waiters, they pretend they don't see you OR they will let you know you're NOT his table.
4. The guy pretended he doesn't know what you mean by "please get your manager"
5. We specifically said 1 plate of lobster spaghetti, but he brought 2 (not that we had trouble finishing it). but he knows the difference between 1 and 2.
6. He made sure you know that tip is not included and won't explain what "Coperto" means (obviously).

the little bits made a difference too; and sometimes they're not better.
1. they changed their olive oil - on our last visit, we liked the olive oil so much that we bought 2 bottles from the restaurant, but this time, they change it to something else, and it became forgetful.
2. they closed off the section we sat at last time, the nice general area semi outdoor patio is still there, but we also enjoyed our quiet 4 table corner from last time, which is now closed.
3. perhaps they had a change of ownership... kitchen stayed the same, but the floor service was so poor, maybe I'll get the lobster spaghetti to go from now on.

Amazing Lobster Spaghetti
Forget about the rest of the food. Just get the lobster spaghetti
1. fresh lobster
2. perfectly seasoned sauce
3. there's something going on with the spaghetti too because the sauce had a hint of lobster taste to it (perhaps some kind of scrimp paste)
4. the spaghetti was fine (not al dente enough, and of average quality)

The rest of the food was just average, but again, the lobster spaghetti alone makes up for the food. Unfortunately not their service.

The food is good, nice furnishings with artistics lamps. Open space too noisy when is full, terrible when there are a lot of childrens inside! Expensive only for a pizza.

Like an italian film, the place is oozing with old time atmosphere and smells. Good food, service, and honest prices. Right in the heart of the navigli district (canal zone), so it's great for walking around after dinner and checking out the people and the interesting shops.....
