This hotel is in a perect location for lunch in the middle of the best shopping area in Milan. It's quiet, spacious unexpected and stolen away. If other shoppers knew it was here there would be a line out the door.
The food is very good. We had the same chef at lunch and dinner on July 10th and we were touched by the way he would poke his head out of his kitchen and look at the diners to make sure they were enjoying their meal. It was heartwarming and we really enjoyed our meal so we made sure to give him a big thumbs-up.
the wait staff at lunch that day (July 10) was perfect. The waiter's English was perfect. He interpreted my requests like ESP guessed the perfect wine, stayed with us the whole way and never waivered on his service committment. We gave him a big tip.
Dinner was another matter. We had a waitress who played nice to our face but couldn't be bothered. She grew impatient quickly with custom meal requests. We were nothing but nice to her. Then unexpectedly another waiter took over.. He was coonstantly in the wrong place at the wrong time. Chose the wrong wine, didn't bring the wine. Was constantly a step behind.
Matre D Luigi brought up the rear and made up for his (and her) shortcomings.
We got the check and left a cash tip for the Maitre D., This hotel could be one of the hotest restaurants in Milan with the right menu and planning. The location and ambience are primo.
