Went to Milan on Business last week and I had a 7 am arrival to Malpensa. There is a great Sheraton at the airport, if you are just coming or going (see review elsewhere). I was in town for a few days without a car. The AC was close to Trains, restaurants and trams/metro downtown. Very new and modern rooms. Restaurant is OK, but with limited menu and 24 hour menu is all frozen food. upgraded to a larger room, so I have no data on the standard room. My room (1208) had a separate tub inside the shower enclosure ( you step through the shower to the tub), nice lighted mirror, safe, robe, bidet, etc. view of station and the Expo 2015 build out downtown.

Steak and pizza restaurant one block away was good. nice pizzas, english menu.
Trams 2 and 4 are also one block away. Tram 4 takes you to castelleo (the castle) and you can transfer to Tram 14 to go to Duomo. You can also go back to Garibaldi and pick up the metro to get there. The Duomo is a pretty awesome cathedral. The last supper is also nearby to the Duomo, but don't forget to get tickets in advance.

An easy walk from the hotel is the Monument cemetary. The tombs and crypts here are truly sculptural works of art.

Details to get there on foot
After a 50 min ride on the the Malpensa "express", I ended up in Port Garibaldi Train station. Not all trains stop here. Check the schedules before you leave if your Italian is sub par. At Garibaldi, go to the platform for line 6 and walk away from the station until you find the stairs down. I think you turn left at the bottom and go towards lower platform numbers and there is a ramp up that will lead to the hotel. I took surface roads first time, or you can grab a cab. The metro station is also in the same building as the trains.

This place was exactly what I was after. I'd just landed after a 24 hour trip and I wanted clean modern rooms, great customer service and a lovely dinner and brekkie before heading south the next day. Perfetto!! Great spot for grabbing a train the next day.

In a recent trip to Milan, we were impressed by the sleek and modern AC Milan. Very well located, close to Via Garibaldi and the trendy Brera district, it makes for a very pleasant walk to the Duomo and Fashion district. Also, it has a subway station on its doorsteps. The staff is very friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay there again!

Spent one night at the AC Hotel Milano. The AC is a mid-range business-style hotel right next to Garibaldi Station; as such, it is very convenient for travellers using the Italo high-speed trains. The sights of central Milan - including the Duomo and the Cenacolo Vinciano (for Da Vinci's Last Supper) - are a few stops away on the Metro. Access to Garibaldi station from the hotel is via an underground passageway from the street outside.

Our room was very stylish and tastefully set up (as one would expect in Milan), but was uncomfortably hot. We were unable to set the air conditioning in our room to cool; Reception advised that the entire hotel's air conditioning was set to heat, as it was early April and still the winter season. Maintenance was sent to switch our heating off, but the room was still warm and stuffy, and it was not possible to open the window.

Breakfast was a buffet in a large room, and was adequate.

For EUR 220 for the night, we were a little disappointed.

Friendly staff, great location, nice clean rooms and tasteful breakfast.
No free wifi though which is a shame for such a business hotel
Ideal for the business traveller but also for the business traveller and his wife :-)
We travelled to Milan after Tarragona and we can highly recommend the AC Marriott hotels!
