I've stayed at this hotel countless times, and have very little bad I can say about it.
All the rooms have identical decor and all are modern and minimalist. The bathrooms are spacious with a good shower, nice large sink, bath robe and slippers included. With 17 floors the chances are you'll have awesome views of Milan, and hardly be affected by noise from the roads.
The rooms also all have a flat-screen TV with Sky, which is great and offers plenty of international channels - and even on the local channels the language of English shows can often be switched to English.
One negative is the sound from neighbouring rooms... I've been fortunate not to have noisy neighbours but you would definitely hear loud conversations or a TV on too loudly. The constant 'ding' from the elevators in the morning can also be annoying as you're snoozing the alarm in the morning, even if you're not in a room particularly close to them.
I don't eat breakfast so can't comment on the quality of the buffet, though colleagues have not complained. Room service is decent, not great, and nearby you have Corso Como with a large selection of restaurants and bars.
The hotel also has a workout room with treadmill, two exercise bikes and a weights bench.

The staff are always friendly and get to recognise you, so it's nice to be welcomed back by a familiar face.

Room Tip: Ask for one far away from the elevators if possible. And on a higher floor for the best views.

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We arrived after a long overnight flight and were pleased to find a comfortable bed to relieve our jet lag. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Garibaldi train station, with connections to anywhere we were going. Also, the trams are easy to catch, just a half block away. The immediate neighborhood is great, lots of good restaurants and bakeries within walking distance. We never felt unsafe walking in the area. The rooms are very nice, with large bathrooms, a real luxury in Italy. The breakfast was good, but if it is not included in your rate, there are bakeries nearby where you can get a bite to eat and a cappuccino. The front desk staff was exemplary. We found them to be very helpful and always polite and pleasant. They really added to our enjoyment of this property.

I was in the AC/Marriot Hotel in Milan for a business meeting this June 2012. The hotel is well located even if not easy to reach by car. The parking is very narrow. It is a design hotel with nice common areas My room was pretty small an I was not upgraded in spite of being a Marriot club member. Differently from other Marriot you do not have the lounge floor.. The room was pretty small and the Sky programs were not working properly. Small Fitness center with few areas nearby to make some running (you need to walk and go to Parco Sempione).

As a frequent Marriott traveler I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Apparently a new property, it is well designed for comfort and style.
The room was excellent and the bed very comfortable. Same for the excellent breakfast,
The only drawback was the silly wireless access scheme where "free" is basically a teaser to pay full rate for acceptable bandwidth.

This hotel is a bit sterile since it is appointed in a rather contemporary style. It has cold and somewhat unfriendly furnishings, but still reasonably comfortable. That's probably the problem with comtemporary styles since they all seem so bland and dehumanized (at least to my wife and me). The room was acceptable if not full of "warmth". The TV service was interesting since it had some channels which offered both the dubbed foreign language as well as the original English language. After nearly 3 weeks of foreign dubbed TV, english language programs (not BBC or CNN) were nice. The staff was excellent and very helpful. There is an underground entrance to the train station right by the front door, but unless you can get very detailed directions, you might find the walk a bit spooky and unnecessarily long. It wasn't dangerous, but we did feel a touch uneasy about it. The train station also has a Metro stop as part of it. It is a short walk via the streets to the station. When walking from the station to the hotel, just stay on the train station side of the street or you'll get tangled in all of the construction and possibly end up stumbling around some odd streets. You really can't get lost since the hotel is the tallest building in the area (at least for now) and you just need to keep walking towards the tall thing. The station also has a grocery where you can get snacks and even food for an in-room "picnic". You can take the Metro into the city center, or just take the tram from in front of the hotel. Be sure to get specific directions as to which direction to take the tram from the front desk or you could end up going away from the city center. The front desk will also sell you the tram tickets. Be sure to validate the ticket on the tram. The front desk can provide directions to some local restaurants that are a short, interesting walk from the hotel. The street with the restaurants is a nice, typical Italian neighborhood pedestrian area with some good (if expensive) eateries. The safe in the room worked properly and the mini bar was great to store drinks and snacks from the grocery store. If you are going to leave to the airport from this hotel, just ask the front desk to call you a taxi and take it to the Cadorna train station. The taxi ride is less than 10 Euros and the train to Malpensa airport is about 8 euros and it leaves every half hour or so.

++Some of the staff were very helpful and accomodating. Breakfast was excellent for both kids and adults alike. It is linked to the tram system, as well as walking distance to the train station, which also directly serves the airport.

-- Perhaps it was the Italian culture or temperament, but I feel front desk staff should be more customer service oriented in their manner and show more warmth to new comers to both the hotel and the country. The fact that the driveway and the hotel door is a liitle far and not smooth (ie steps) and since there is no doorman, made my arrival at the hotel in the rain with 5 bags and 3 children, a challenge. There is also only 1 luggage trolley in the hotel! The room was very warm and I had to ask the hotel to open up one window to let fresh air in. (which they did immediately, thanks!)

Room Tip: If you are travelling during the winter, you will need to ask for help with opening the wondows if t...

As a business traveller who stayed in this hotel for 4 days I feel it came up short on two fundamental points: (1) internet access is outsourced to Swisscom - basically you have to pay extra for every device you wish to connect (laptop, iPad, iPhone) at steep rates and then once they have taken your money actually getting a decent service is up to the gods. Forget about downloading a big spreadsheet unless you have time to watch your hair grow. I came across the same issue staying at the AC in Madrid where the wifi is also outsourced to a Spanish provider - there i lost my money and never managed to connect. Since you are not dealing with the hotel in buying the service there is little they can do about poor service; you are on your own. This is reason enough for me never to bother with an AC hotel again but there is a second gripe. (2) I chose to stay in a Marriott hotel because they tend to have good fitness centres for travelling business people. Like in Madrid this hotel sports only a limited facility in the basement. No one wants to work out there. My colleague who like me likes to work out while travelling opted to run up and down the stairwell instead...

Does anything make up for these shortcomings? Not really. The hotel is next to a huge building site in a non descript part of Milan outside of the centre of town. The rooms though tastefully decorated are on the small side. The building itself is a monstrosity.

A big selling point for the hotel is the so called free mini bar... Don't be fooled. Why this really means is a couple of free sodas and a couple of bottles of water. The free mini 'bar' is alcohol free... It is in fact a dry bar :)
