Our stay at this hotel was very relaxing, and the hotel is extremely quiet and luxurious.

The lobby is spacious and modern, with free newspapers provided every morning.

The best surprise was the free breakfast included with our room. This buffet breakfast was tremendous, with 5 or 6 staff to cleanup after you and re-stock the food. The variety of breads, meats, cheeses and yoghurts was terrific.

A couple of small drawbacks about this hotel:
1) Location is quiet and secluded, but its not central to the main sights and shopping of Milano. You need to catch the 12 tram down Via Andrea Solari from Sant Agostino train station.

There is a very big supermarket on via Andrea Solari, about 10 minutes walk, that is great for groceries.

2) There is free wi-fi only in the lobby, and you have to go to the front desk to request a voucher with a code that is valid for 30 minutes usage. Not very convenient and it gets annoying after a while.

Otherwise, the hotel itself was terrific.

Cool looks and very funky decor!
Superior room is a very small room... - go for the larger one, with the free standing tub (like the pictures on their web site). We ended upgrading, once we saw the "superior" to the Executive room - insist on it!
Area of Tortona is like NYC's Soho - galleries, etc. Not the posh center of Milan, so you must like that or don't bother.
Quite a walk to the subway.

Room Tip: Don't stay at anything smaller than the Executive Room!

Check in alright. No explanation of hotel whatsoever, mentioned it was my first time. Bar ok. A lot of staff very nervous for vip guests in an event, no concentration on the ones that pay the bills. Room is very minimalist. No directory. Shower is on ceiling with very strong jets. Not very comfortable. The atmosphere is not classy. Restaurant service is good. All single business men and women looking at their cell phones.

Altnough initial impressions are of a funky, modern hotel, the cool looking chairs both outside and inside the hotel indluding the lobby are made of hard plastic, even the ones in the entrance lobby. Inside, there is no lounge area worth speaking of, other than a small after thought of a bar to chill out. Coffee at 6 euros? The breakfast was standard international business hotel fare and adequate, but with hot food limited to scrambled egg and greasy bacon. The coffee machine dispensed a sort of browny liquid that vaguely tasted of coffee. Last time I looked, Italy was supposed to serve some of the best coffee in the world.
Although the rooms and corridors are stylish as are the rooms, the hard wood floors in the rooms don't convey any feeling of comfort. The outlook on to the rooves of more industrial estate buildings was depressing. A limited choice of restaurants nearby increased the sense of being isolated from the vibrant heart of a cracking city.
It's a trek to the city centre past the industrial buildings opposite, adorned with copious graffiti that blights much of the city.
This is a hotel fr the business traveller and conference. Sorry chaps, it's a triumph of style over substance and very much the Emporor's new clothes. Nope, I wouldn't come back.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel

it is one of the most modern hotels i have seen , with all the new features like led shower from the ceiling, modern frniture, glass doors - realy WOW!!
bed very comfortable, internet is free only at the lobby, parking at hotel expensive - its worth buying ticket to park on the street. hotel staff very polite and helpful.
food and drinks at hotel very very expensive, if you don't have breakfast included in the rate (like we did) go to a cafe on stendhal street for a great coffee and sandwich for about 5 euros

Room Tip: our room was on the railway side the view was ugly but we could hardly hear the sound. I guess it will be better on the other side of the hotel
